James initially thought that Sirius was the most difficult person to be around when he was in the presence of a girl, but he soon came to realize that he had been completely mistaken in his assessment when it came to Remus and Evanie.

After several months, Remus and Evanie had finally become an official couple. Initially, the Marauders, including Ezekiel, had been determined to see it happen; however, they soon found that they came to regret it, with the exception of James.

Before they became an official couple, Remus and Evanie already had a preexisting relationship, which meant that they were already quite far in their romantic journey. Due to their lack of boundaries, they often found themselves sneaking away to spend time alone together. Despite their inexperience, they quickly abandoned any notion of taking things slow.

James lost count of the number of instances where he walked in on them engaged in passionate make-out sessions. While they were discreet in public, they were anything but when it came to their friends, with absolutely no filter in place.

"Enough is enough!" James declared loudly, causing Tabitha, who was seated nearby, to startle, leading him to quickly offer her an apology.

Kaia looked up from her book and groaned, "What now, Potter?"

James fixed his gaze, stating simply, "Remus and Evanie."

Ezekiel let out an exasperated sigh as he lay on the grass, saying, "Just leave it, James. Why does it matter what they do?"

James retorted, "Are you seriously comfortable with your sister going off and likely engaging in more intimate acts than snogging?"

"Please, don't put that image in my head; she's my sister for Merlin's sake," Ezekiel gagged as he turned his body away from James, facing the opposite direction, in an attempt to signal 'Stop talking.'

Tabitha chimed in, saying, "James, you're the only one who is bothered by it. Seriously, they are in a relationship, let them be."

"You don't see Kaia and Sirius being overly affectionate, or the two of us" James protested, but Tabitha simply shook her head, realizing it was futile to try and convince him otherwise.

Kaia smirked as she made a joke, saying, "Well, I'll personally shave Sirius' head if he dares to try anything." Sirius mistook Kaia as serious and visibly winced at the threat.

"Are you all seriously not annoyed by it?" James repeated his question, flailing his feet in frustration.

Peter spoke up, "You know, Prongs, you've got a point. Oddly, none of us have actually run into them doing that." Peter munched on a pumpkin pasty as he spoke.

James looked at Peter with lowered hands and asked, "Are you suggesting that they are messing with me on purpose?"

Ezekiel chimed in, saying, "Because I think that's exactly what they are doing."

"Why?" James groaned.

Evanie's voice suddenly cut in, making James nearly jump out of his skin as he turned to see her smirking. "Because it's entertaining to see you squirm."

"What did I ever do to merit this treatment?!" James fumed, waving his arms in agitation.

Remus casually walked over and shrugged his shoulders, replying nonchalantly, "Honestly, nothing. We just find it amusing."

"My own best mate, and you've done this to me a second time!" James dramatically wailed, collapsing onto the ground and crawling into Tabitha's arms, seeking consolation.

Remus suppressed a chuckle and simply said, "You're so overdramatic"

James lifted his head from Tabitha's embrace and shot a glare at Remus, replying with a hint of sarcasm, "Thank you so much for noticing."

Remus rolled his eyes playfully and retorted, "Hard to miss"

James groaned and grumbled, burying his face back into Tabitha's lap, mumbling something about being betrayed by his friends.

Tabitha patted James on the head affectionately, trying to ease his feelings of betrayal. Meanwhile, Remus couldn't help but chuckle at James's dramatics.

"This is not funny!" James protested, but the effect was undermined by his face still being pressed into Tabitha's lap, muffling his words.

Remus stifled another laugh, saying, "Oh, it's very funny" as Ezekiel, Sirius, Kaia, and Peter all snickered behind him.

James let out an exaggerated sigh, lifting his head from Tabitha's lap to glare at Remus. "You're all horrible friends, you know that?"

"And yet you still love us" Remus quipped, followed by a chorus of chuckles from Kaia, Ezekiel, and Peter.

James rolled his eyes dramatically, mumbling, "unfortunately" under his breath, which only prompted another round of laughter from the group.

"Ah, come on, James," Tabitha said, patting his shoulder affectionately, "You wouldn't want us any other way."

James muttered, "I want you, not them," and leaned against Tabitha, earning a mix of affectionate eye rolls and scoffing from the others.

"Oh, we're so wounded" Kaia said with sarcasm that only she could pull off and the others chuckled, used to James's dramatics.

Sirius chimed in with a roll of his eyes, "And just a little while back, he was complaining to us about being tired of seeing Remus and Evanie."

James shot a playful glare at Sirius and muttered, "Traitor" under his breath. Tabitha simply ruffled his hair and chuckled.

"I have no loyalty, you know that" Sirius teased back, earning a collective eye roll from the group but also eliciting a smile from James.

"Yes, we've been painfully aware of your lack of loyalty since first year" James quipped, but his expression betrayed his amusement.

Sirius put a hand to his heart, feigning hurt, "You wound me, Prongs, I'm deeply offended"

"Oh, shut up. You love it" James shot back with a smirk.

Sirius shrugged, a sly smile on his face, "Can't deny it, mate. I do live for the drama"

"Of course you do" James said, rolling his eyes but there was a hint of affection in his tone.

James turned away from Sirius and realized that Evanie and Remus had been sneaking away. Strangely, he chose not to complain, silently appreciating the turn of events. Despite Remus's frequent assertion that he wouldn't fall in love, it seems that fate has had other plans.
