We were out and roaming. We had everything we thought we would need. We've been out for at least two hours. I've caught glimpses of movement in and out of the trees. Nothing has shown itself yet. I say yet.

I've been watching these things for a while. Most of them are bumbling idiots, but one, one is different. He knows what he's doing. He hasn't made a sound. Not one. He could be a possibility for a new member.
We'll see, for now I think they'll just turn into food for them.

Here we are. The middle of the woods. It's quite beautiful out here. Though I wish these klutzy bozos were quieter. A deaf mouse could hear them coming from a mile away. Then, I realize, we're being watched again. I look around, and halt the others. I spot a shadow in the trees. I aim Sting at it, and hold fire. I wait. The others take notice of my behaviour and follow suit. All weapons are pointed at the figure. I could tell no one intended on firing until I made the first shot. I wait for twenty minutes in tense silence.

Donovan: We've been at this for a while, it hasn't moved. Should we fire?

Yn: Only if it makes a hostile move.

Donovan: Copy. Holding fire.

The others most likely nod in agreement. I get the feeling that it has no ill intent. I slightly lower my aim.

Donovan: Gun ready, lower aim.

The shadow looks apprehensive. It slightly backs up. Then a rustling could be heard. The figure looks to our left and bolts. We look in the same direction.

Yn: Guns ready! If it moves too fast shoot it!

Donovan: Roger!

The rustling continues. It gets closer and closer. Until it stops right in front of us. Just behind the bushes.....

Then without warning an indescribable beast leaps from its cover and bolts for us. Shots are fired instantly. Guns spraying lead was all that could be heard. That and roaring. The beast took heavy damage. It recoiled and leaped to the side. It hadn't expected us to stand our ground. Now it carefully circles us. We stopped firing momentarily. I got more of a look then I would have liked.

It was tall and apelike in stance. It walked on its front knuckles. It's arms were long. It had a very ugly maw. It's lower jaw is in two separate mandibles. It had goatish horns and hooves on it back legs. It had three large claws on each hand. It's face was smudged in an almost bat like. It's body was chimp like, slender but strong looking.

I hated it. I hated it outright. The fucker was also at least seven feet tall. I was not happy. My fellow combatants were all shocked and scared. It still circled us. It looked hungry. I certainly don't like that. I only had one option visible.

Yn: Everyone... Run. Run back to camp. I'll hold it off. Get your asses out of here now.

Louis: I ain't arguing!

Lucy: Me neither!

Donovan: Damn cowards! As for you, I'm not leaving you alone! You can forget about me ditching you!

Yn: I SAID GO! GO WHILE YOU STILL CAN! I'LL HOLD IT OFF, BUT YOU HAVE TO GO NOW!!

Donovan: Fine... But I'm coming back for ya!
