THOUGHTLESS CRAVINGS

Once on a window, I was sitting whole night,
pondering deep about my own plight.
Innumerable doubts totally clogged up my mind,
to which the responses were hard to find.

And just before the dawn did strike,
God knows, how much I had to strive!
My hands held a scribbled list,
All that I wanted under my fist.

All I craved then was for beauty,
to captivate others, to be their priority.
But for them, it was a matter of satisfaction,
It was surely lust, not a holy affection.

All I craved then was for love,
The purest form of dove.
But it's not all that you need,
coz practically it can't get you feed.

All I craved then was for money,
It feels proud to add up to your patrimony.
You get power, you get everything,
But again, except people you can buy anything.

All I craved then was for happiness,
Who doesn't want to get rid of their weariness?
But again it's short termed and temporary,
Either you earn it or it's supplementary.

Finally after a long saga, I beautifully succeed,
As I learnt; Peace is the mother of every need.
Afterall behind every craving, we aim to attain peace,
Coz ultimately it brings our life at ease!
