I was there, at the edge of the cliff. Tip-toeing precariously, my heartbeat accelerating and my nerves stimulating.
I didn't want to fall. I didn't want to meet the harsh, beautiful ground far below.
But as I was trying to retract my steps, I slipped. And I fell.
I felt like screaming, but I couldn't. My voice was long gone. I fell with the wind whipping my dress from left to right and my hair flying in all directions. I could see the ground getting closer, the death of me. I shut my eyes, afraid.
You made me fall. I think you knew, you saw it coming and you basked in the glory of that knowledge.
I fell, and you were there to greet me with the passionate whisper of a kiss. A kiss of triumph.
I guess I forgot to tell you that I was terrified of heights. And falling.
Falling in love with you.
