"I'm here for my appointment."
"Name?"
"Stacie wheeler."
The receptionist clicks away on the computer, before saying I'm checked in. I rarely come here only for follow ups every so often. I sit in an empty chair and pull out my iPhone to keeps myself busy. You know the usual looking at social media stuff, Instagram, posting pictures.
All of a sudden the little voice in my head tells me to 'look up.' When I do I notice a sight I wasn't expecting. Going over to the pair who hadn't seen me yet.
"Look who we have here."
Both Lianna and her boyfriend turn towards me. Both are suprised. Lianna's boyfriend has on a white doctor's coat. I notice he's holding something to her. Upon further scrutiny I notice it's a phone. After Lianna takes it he heads through the doors and leaves a confused Lianna.
"Stacie what are you doing here?"
"I could ask you the same."
"My appointment." Lianna admits in a duh obviously that's the reason. There's something else to this. It doesn't explain why her boyfriend was handing her the phone. They're hiding something and I'm going to find out.
Lianna turns away and starts talking with the same person who checked me in. I over hear her scheduling an appointment for a month from now. Then as I sit back down she leaves giving me the nasty eye. I don't like her either. She thinks just cause her acne is clearing up, she run the world. Lianna won't feel on top for long when I break the truth about her boyfriend. A nurse comes to bring me back.
"Can I ask you a question?"
"Sure."
"Are doctors and patients allowed to date at this hospital?"
"No there are strict rules against it. If reported and verified a doctor can lose their job, even get suspended/lose their license. Why do you ask?"
"No particular reason just curious."
It's a lie of course but she doesn't need to know that. It's all coming together now. How I'm going to drive a wedge between them?
