Thirdy went straight to their house in Urdaneta Village where Charmaine’s family is staying.  His mother instructed him to stay with his sister while their Lolo Daddy is in Canada to visit their Aunt Rizza.

He is entering the mansion when his phone vibrates and his Mom’s name flashes on his phone screen.  “Hello Mommy.” He answered.

“How are you my prince?” Dei asked over the phone.  “Hindi ka ba nahihirapan sa byahe going to your school?” she further asked.

“It is still a bit hard but I know makaka-adjust naman ako in a few days.” Thirdy replied.

“I’m sorry kung dyan muna kita pinauwi sa house natin, your grandfather will be staying in Canada for two months.  Ayoko naman na wala kang kasama sa house.  At least dyan, you have your Ate Charmaine and Kuya Tristan to look after you.” Dei explained.

“Mom, I am sixteen years old and in a few months, seventeen na ako.  Hindi ko na kailangang alagaan pa.” Thirdy replied.

“I know you can take care of yourself, my prince.  But for me, iba pa rin kung may mag-aasikaso ng mga needs mo.  Don’t you want to live with your Ate Charmaine for a while, hinihigpitan ka ba ng Ate mo?” Dei asked.

“Well, kilala naman natin si Ate na mahigpit talaga, so there is nothing new.” Thirdy replied.

“Your Dad has an specific instruction na wag ka nyang i-pressure sa training mo. Call me if you think she is giving you a hard time.  Sabi mo nga mahgpit ang Ate Charmaine mo, but I told her to take it easy on you.  Kamusta nga pala ang training mo sa Royalties? Are you enjoying it?” Dei asked.

“Yes I am, Mommy.  Though there are still a lot to learn pero hindi naman tayo nagmamadali di ba?” Thirdy asked.

“Just enjoy the training, my prince but keep in mind that your studies should be your priority.” Dei reminded her son.

“I am keeping that in mind, Mom.  My studies first, then my soccer game then my training.” Thirdy replied.

“Alright, we will settle on the order for the meantime.  At least wala pang lovelife sa list of priorities mo.” Dei said.

“Wala pa naman po, in two years pa, Mommy.” Thirdy said laughing.

“That’s good, at least tapos mo na ang senior high school by that time.” Dei replied.  “Sana hindi mainip si Althea.” She then teases.

“Bakit naman sya maiinip eh yung Daddy nya nga ang may sabi na hindi pa sya pwedeng ligawan, after senior high school pa raw.” Thirdy replied.

“Uy, co-terminous pala sa target date ng Daddy ni Althea.” She teases again.

“Ganon din ba kahigpit si Daddy kay Ate Charmaine and Ate Athena?” Thirdy asked.

“Your Daddy is worst, sabi nya dati at the age of forty pa daw pwedeng ligawan ang mga Ate mo.  But when he met Raphael nagbago ang ihip ng hangin, sya na ang naiinip na manligaw si Kuya Raffy mo kay Ate Charmaine mo, kaso si Ate Athena mo pala ang type ni Kuya Raffy.” Dei said recalling the past.

“So pwede pang magbago ang isip ng Daddy ni Althea?” Thirdy asked.

“I don’t know, my prince.  Hindi ko naman masyadong kilala ang mga Monteiro.  But in a few times na nakakasama namin sila, we could say that they have raised their children pretty well.  All were courteous and respectful not to mention smart and talented children.” Dei commented.
