chapter twenty six;

September 14, 1974

Roger's POV

"Alright darlings! Listen up. Two months from today is our best friends birthday. We have to go big and all out for her birthday I'm telling you." Freddie announced as we walked into the studio.

"Well she's turning 24, what should we do?" Deaky asked.

"We are going to go all out darlings! I swear I've always wanted to throw a big ass celebration for Maddie, and now that I have you guys, I get to do it. I also will call some of her old friends from college when the party is all planned out!" Fred exclaimed.

"My lips are sealed." I said as I went to sit on the couch.

Today we weren't even recording. We were just going to plan out her party a bit, or at least get started. I swear Freddie's plan is so big.

"I can even throw it at my house! I hope it's enough room for what I have planned out though, we may have to go bigger. I could always rent a place if I need to." Fred said.

"Better have a bar, as well. Maddie usually gets completely shitfaced on her birthday." Fred also explained.

"Sounds good, I'll probably end up getting shitfaced too," I laughed.

"Rog you always get drunk pretty much anywhere there's a bar," Brian said. He's not wrong. I even got drunk at Freddie's birthday and Maddie and I ended taking a bath together. I'll admit that I completely loved it, I'm surprised I was even sober enough to remember it.

After about three hours of party planning, which was going fantastic, we went out to get some lunch. We went to a restaurant right down the street.

"This one looks look, maybe we should go here." John said as he pointed to an italian restaurant.

"Let's go darlings!" Fred said as we crossed the street.

We walked in, and that's when I immediately stopped. I recognized the back and hair of a lady that was facing the opposite direction. It was Maddie.

"Maddie!" I said, trying to get her attention. I caught the attention of the guys and they started calling her name as well.

She turned around and her eyes widened. She ran into my arms as I picked her up and spun her around.

"What are you guys doing here? I thought you were recording today!" She exclaimed.

"We were practicing a bit today, but we decided to get lunch darling." Fred said as he wrapped his arms around her. Brian and Deaky also gave her a hug.

I really liked where this day was going.
