July 26, 1977

It was the day. I had to tell him and surprise him for his birthday.

I decided to wake up early and make him eggs, toast, and bacon. Extra crispy, just the way he liked it.

I heard him stumble from out of bed from upstairs. He came down the stairs and wrapped his arms around me to where his hands were on my stomach.

"Good morning love," he smiled.

"Hello birthday boy, go sit down and eat." I smiled.

He liked what he was seeing, he thanked me and started eating.

I sat across from him and started to drink my water.

"Would you like your gift?" I asked.

"Ugh, you do this every year. I really don't need any presents," he chuckled.

"Roger I have to tell you something though that I found out yesterday. I couldn't bring myself to tell you yesterday because I was trying to comprehend." I said.

"What's wrong honey?" He asked.

"I'm not eating for two any more..." I trailed off trying to look a bit upset. Roger came over and wrapped me in his big arms.

"Love- oh my goodness-" He said because I cut him off.

"Because now I'm eating for three."

His eyes went wide. He started to cry tears of joy that streamed down his cheeks. I wrapped my arms around him as he pressed a hand against my stomach.

"Maddie- I-" He was speechless.

"Yeah, the doctor told me yesterday at the ultrasound," I smiled as I wrapped my arms around his neck.

"This is amazing news though! Not only are you holding one of my children, you're holding two!" He said excitedly.

"What if I told you I was eating for four?" I giggled.

"I'd still be happy, one round three kids. Wait, you aren't actually having triplets are you?" He gasped.

"No silly, I was messing around."

"But still Maddie, thank you so much." He said.

"For what, Meddows?"

"For loving me, and carrying my children. God it means the world to me."

"More than a car?" I giggled.

"Yes Maddie, more than a car," he said as he kissed my cheek.

I looked up at him and brought my lips to his. Sparks lighting as the magical moment happened.

"Thank you again for the amazing news on my birthday, this is better than any present I could've ever gotten," he smiled.

Glad to know he was happy about it.
