NIKKI'S POV

"Miss Moore, Sir Rafael called 10 minutes ago. I told him you are on a meeting." sabi ng secretary kong si Barbara habang tinitignan ko ang report ng accounting department.

"Call him back and transfer the call to me. And please no one will disturb me for the next 20 minutes." Sagot ko sa kanya habang hindi siya tinitignan.

After that I just heard my office door closed.

Pagkabagsak mismo ay siyang pagtigil ko sa ginagawa ko.

Napabuntong hinga ako.

At tinignan ang kabuohan ng office ko.

May 30inches portrait ni Dad sa gilid ng office ko.

At plaque and rewards na natanggap niya at ng companya ang nasa ibaba ng portrait niya.

Sa kabilang banda andun naman ang mga plaques ko.

This is my first time I spent a day on this office.

I usually do my work at home.

Pero monitored ko lahat ng galawan dito sa kompanya kasi araw-araw akong pumupunta dito.

I pretended to be a client, a customer, and sometimes a visitor of my own assistant. Para lang may rason pumunta dito at mag observe.

Maya-maya pa ay tumayo ako at tinitigan ang portrait ni Dad.

I hope you're proud of me.

Nagring bigla ang phone ko. At sinagot ko iyun.

"How was it?" Tanong ni Rafael sa kabilang linya.

"As what I expect." I put him on speaker so I could continue my work.

I sat down again.

"Do you need me there to give you a massage?" He said playfully.

I know what he means.

"Raf... I'll be there later so calm your ass off." Sagot ko.

Tumawa naman siya sa kabilang linya.

"Mouth, lady."

"Don't call me that."

"Oh sige, baby nalang." Sabi niya na nagtatagalog.

Ngayon lang ako nakarinig ulit ng tagalog after a month?

Wala na kasi akong oras para umuwi ng pinas at bisitahin si Mommy. And the last time I called her through Skype was 2 months ago.

Nagtatampo na yun sakin.

"What you doing now?" Tanung ni Raffy.

"Working. And my head is freakin' aching because of these rebel board members."

Narinig ko siyang bumuntong-hinga sa kabilang linya.

"Sagutin mu na kasi ako para may inspirasyon ka naman."

"Here we go again."

"Niks, I've been courting you for almost 3 years now. Malapit na nga tayung mag anniversary." And then he laughed sadly.

"I told you I cannot commit as of now. I have things to do. And you know what are those. Kailangan ko pa syang mahanap." Napahinto ako sa ginagawa ko.

Bumuntong hinga siya.

At maya-maya pa may kumatok sa pintuan ko. At sumilip si Barbara.

"Miss Moore, someone's looking for you."
