phil shook his head slowly in disappointment as dan's roommate, mack, rubbed his back comfortingly. he didn't know what to do or exactly how he should feel in this moment; never being one to really feel his emotions in a healthy way. he wanted so badly to be angry, but that was something that was just not present in his mind.

"i'm sorry, phil," she said softly. phil just scoffed and ran his finger over one of the flowers in the bouquet he was holding. he should've known better than to expect something more than what he was getting because at this point, all attachment lead to was disappointment and getting hurt. he was just so goddamn tired of it.

"it's fine," he paused, "i'm used to it."

with that, the boy with the useless flowers and two tickets to the movie dan's been dying to see, walked out of the room with a million pounds of regret on his shoulders and an extreme urge to cry.
