Prologue:

I was teleported to an apartment on, what looked like, the Upper East Side. There was a note on the table next to me.

Be there as soon as the meeting is over! To explain.

Artemis

So Artemis is behind this. Great.

I waited for 5 minutes until she teleported in with a flash of silver. She sat a duffle bag and a glass ball down on the table.

"I am giving you a new life. I have anything you might need in here," she pointed to the bag, "The rest of the Gods think your dead. And it should stay that way, for everyone's sake. You don't have a scent anymore so I have some electronics. To keep your mother and step-father safe, I moved you far away from the MidTown."

"Thank you Lady Artemis," I say bowing, she seemed annoyed by this.

"Please, I'm just your cousin, Arty!"

We both laughed. "Oh and a friend for you, I found him in the woods, thought you could use a companion," she gave me the glass ball, "Break it."

I broke it on the ground and it transformed into a wolf, maybe 3 years old. "What's his name!"

"You can decide that. Now I must go before monsters and the Gods find me here. I'll miss you cous. See you when I can."

I hug her a final time and she disappeared.

-----

I opened the bag inside was, like she said, anything I might need. A phone, a laptop, keys to a car, clothes, notes explaining that this apartment was mine and so was the car down stairs, a credit card, some cash, and an envelope.

I opened the envelope, inside was an acceptance letter to NYU, in Marine Biology.

"Thanks Arty," I say out loud.

I lean down to the wolf, "I think I'll call you Ryker."

----------

*3 months later*

My life is great, I am now three months pregnant with fraternal twins, and my college life was going well. The car Artemis left me was a sea green Jeep. And I loved it.

Right now I was studying for my biostatistics midterm. Since I wasn't a demigod, my ADHD and dyslexia has just gone away. I am in a park, under a willow tree.

"Percy Jackson."

I grabbed my swiss army knife and turned to see three old ladies, looking older than normal.

"Fates... You don't look great, but... why are you here!"

"The Gods, they have forgotten about us."

Your fading!?!" I didn't know what to do. The Fates were fading!

"Yes, and you, will be our successor. You will be the new Fate." They told me.

"Why? Wouldn't I just fade too?" I ask them worriedly.

"You would have control of other domains to make sure that you don't fade. Persephone Jackson, you are the strongest of all of us. You are the bringer of good and light. But also of darkness. From the beginning you tried to deny Fate and now you will control it."

"I... guess that would be fine, I would still be away from Olympus yes?"

"Yes. Persephone Jackson, you are hereby the Goddess of fate, time, creation, life, natural disasters, ice, despair, and heroes."

After that they disintegrated into bronze dust.

The Fates were gone.
