*another long chapter warning!"

*BTW Percy's been in Alaska for a month now*

"Alright. Now mix the dry and wet ingredients, and then we have cookies!" Dottie said, I invited her over to help me with the kids, I've been having a lot of pain from... the infection lately. She was overjoyed to come over.

*Ding* *Ding* *Ding* -- *Knock* *Knock* *Knock*

"Wonder who that is? It sounds important," Dottie said, wiping flour off her hands. I went over to the door and opened it. "Loki?"

"Who's there Perce!" Dottie yelled from the kitchen.

"A friend, just give me a sec Dot! Watch the kids please." I said closing the door behind me as I went onto my porch. My porch is quite small so Loki and I's chests were almost touching. "What are you doing here?!"

"There was an attack in New York. I just had to know that you're okay." Loki said exasperated, "Can... can I stay here for a while?"

"I would love it. Though what if the neighbors find out that the same Norse god who attacked New York is at my house?" I said.

"Call me... Tom?"

"Tom, really?!"

"Yes. It is common so no one s-should question it!" Loki said blushing, voice-cracking. I giggled at his voice-cracks and turned to go back inside. "Who was it Percy?" Dottie asked, as I entered the kitchen. Somehow within the span of five minutes the twins were now covered in flour.

"Oh, um my boyfriend L... Tom. He's visiting from New York."

"I'm Dottie! Nice to meet you." Dot said, rolling cookies onto the baking sheet with Ethan. "I have to go pick up Marcus from his therapy session. Can you handle this Percy?"

"Of course. Alright, let's get these cookies in the oven and then we'll clean you up. Tom could make sure the twins don't get close to the oven?"

"Sure Starfish."

"Oh you two are so cute!" Dottie said, under her breath as she closed the front door behind her.

"Loki, can you hand me the wrench?" I asked holding my hand out for Loki to give me the wrench. He handed it to me and our hands touched for a split second and it was ice cold. "Are you okay, Trickster?"

"Yeah, Starfish. It's just from the cold."

"You sure?"

"I'm fine. It's just... well you heard about me being a bit of a monster."

"Monster? Loki, you were being controlled in-"

"I was born a frost jotun, or giant in your terms."

"I don't care if you were born as a fury, a frost jotun, or a human. I still love you." I said turning to him and I kissed him passionately.

*One month later*

Loki was walking through a portion of woods, he had gone back to New York to get some intel, or at least that's what he told Percy, he hated lying to her but it was a surprise. Loki soon came across a campsite of silver tents and young girls. As Loki entered the camp, the girls soon noticed him. He was surrounded with arrows pointed at his heart. "What are you doing here male?" An obvious daughter of Athena said, trying to seem tough, and failing with a shaky arm.

"I'm here to see Lady Artemis and Lieutenant Thalia."

"Loki?" Thalia called from the back of the group. The sea of adolescents parted for Thalia and Artemis. "What are you doing here?"

"I'm here to talk with you two. It's... about Percy," Loki said, the last part under his breath. The two women brought me into Artemis's tent to talk. As soon as the flap closed they turned to Loki and pounded him with questions.

"Is she okay?"

"Do we need to go get Perce?"

"What happened!" Thalia and Artemis said at the same time, after they silenced Loki spoke.

"Percy's fine."

"Then why are you here?" Artemis said, annoyed that Loki interrupted her day. Loki took a deep breath and explained.

"I came here to ask you both a question. Seeing as Percy's father can't be trusted, and her mother doesn't even know she's alive. I believe you two are the only ones fit to answer this for them so-"

"Just spit it out greenie!" Thalia said, angry. Loki put a hand into his pocket and pulled something out and hid it in his hand.

"Lady Artemis, Lady Thalia. I would like to ask you for Persephone Jackson's hand in marriage." Loki said placing the object onto the table and opening it. A black velvet box, inside is an engagement ring, with an emerald in the middle with two diamonds on the sides.

The two womens' eyes widened and they turned to each other, having a silent conversation. They turned back to Loki who was sweating profusely at this point.

"Sure!"

*One week later*

Percy and Loki were going on a date. It wasn't their first, however, their first was a dinner at Olive garden about two months ago. But now it was different, it was... more romantic. Loki was leading Percy through the woods, and kept telling her to keep her eyes closed. They came to a stop and Percy opened her eyes. They were in a clearing under the stars, a picnic was set out for them, candles, rose petals. Everything. "Loki this is amazing! Did you do this all by yourself?"

"Well Dottie's husband did help find the perfect place. Apparently he and Dottie had a date here back in the 90's." Loki said laughing a little. They walked over and sat down on the blanket that was set out. Percy fixed her cardigan as she did so. One, it was quite chilly, two, the infection had gotten much bigger over the past few months. Percy still didn't know why.

The night was filled with laughter, amazing food, and champagne. Percy told Loki about Bob and Zoë while showing him the huntress constellation. But it all came down to one moment. Loki and Percy were laying next to each other, with Percy's head on Loki's chest and they were just looking at the stars. Loki started to get up and Percy followed, "You alright Trickster?"

"Yes Starfish. Everything's okay as long as you're here."

"Oh how cheesey!" Percy said and giggled, the sweet laugh that Loki had heard so long ago that made him fall for her. Loki stood and helped Percy stand in her heels. Loki looked into her eyes, and somehow knew exactly what to say. Not too fancy, and not too sappy sweet.

"Percy... I love you, so much. I love you with my whole heart, my whole soul, my whole being. Starfish, you are the most perfect girl in the whole of the nine realms. Covered in scars, eyes full of pain, and a mind full of broken memories. Yet, you still push on day in and day out. Carrying on with your life like nothing can phase you. And I will always love you for it, so, Persephone Jackson, will you marry me?"

"...Loki...yes. Yes! Yes! Yes! A trillion times yes!"

Loki Grabbed Percy by the waist and they shared a tender kiss. When they departed Percy held out here left hand and Loki put the ring on. They shared another kiss, though this time Percy pulled away quite fast. Loki was curious why. But before he could ask Percy fainted, Loki caught her and laid her on the ground gently. In the fall Percy's cardigan had moved and Loki saw a patch of graying skin with veins glowing a deep green. Loki didn't know why or how but...

Percy Jackson was dying.

And, somehow, Aphrodite was behind it.
