Chapter 19

Jennie's PoV

When Lisa sang while playing the piano, it's just ugh! I can't believe I actually chose to watch Kai's game than this precious one. That was so dumb. Everyone's in their rooms now. It's already 11:00 pm so everyone's resting. I doubt that Taehyung and Yugyeom are resting though. Geez. What if they're doing something with Lisa that I won't like?

That's why I stood up from my bed and decided to check on them. When I went down the stairs, all the lights are off so I turned the flash of my phone on. I walked to the kitchen because I suddenly craved for ice cream.

"Why are you still up?" A voice from behind suddenly said

I dropped the ice cream container that I was holding. Her reflexes were incredibly fast that she was able to catch it.

"We don't want to wake everyone up, do we?" She whispered and she put the container back to my hands

Lisa is silently getting something from the cupboard. She also warmed up some water for the drink she's making. It's awfully quiet so I decided to break the silence

"Lisa," I called

"Hm?"

"T-thank you," I said

"You don't have to thank me for bringing you here, Jennie. It's a privilege to meet your family," She replied with a smile

I don't know if I should be happy that she replied or be disappointed because she's still calling me by my name.

"What are you making?" I asked as I scoop my ice cream

"Oh... Hot choco. I have to have it before sleeping," She said and I chuckled

"You're such a kid," I told her

"I am not! I just don't like sleeping after drinking alcohol so--" But I cut her off

"You drank?" I asked

Lisa looked at me and she drank from her mug.

"Just a few shots because your cousins asked me to. I wouldn't want to appear weak in front of them, would I?" She stated

"You do know that you could've just refused that? That will have an effect on your ankle!" I lectured her and she chuckled

"Don't you just chuckle at me, Manoban! You know I have a point!" I told her

"Yes, mom," She sarcastically responded

Silence enveloped us again. She's walking me to the staircase. Well, no because her room is just close to the staircase so we're going the same way. I took the first step on the stairs but I stopped before she can even enter her room.

"Hey," And she faced me

"I just want you to know that Kai and I, that was nothing. We're just friends," I told her and she gave me a bitter smile

"Yeah and so are we," She replied

"No, we're more than that," I said

I felt happy when her smile widened. It turned into a genuine one. I take it that we're okay now? And I lowkey confessed my feelings!

"Goodnight, wifey," She said with a smile

"Goodnight, Manoban," I replied

I turned my back at her and I quickly went to my room. I dove on my bed and muffled my screams! It feels so good seeing her smile like that! A very good night indeed!

~ The morning after ~

"Good morning, Granddad!" I greeted and I pecked a kiss on his cheek

Granddad is a typical grandfather. He has his glasses on, with a newspaper on his hands as his coffee is just on the table.
