I wake up what feels like an eternity later because the train is starting to slow down. I open the doors and take a big gulp of air. I know it sounds weird, but Chicago has such a nice smell. The smell of home, of love, of security and of the factions.
The factions don't really exist anymore, but from what I had heard, most of the (ex) dauntless had stayed in the dauntless quarters, even though they were allowed to be anywhere else.
I jump off the train with ease and I scream , not a scared scream, no, a happy scream. I was gonna see Tobias! I was gonna see my friends, I was gonna see Callum!
I was on the roof of the dauntless initiation test, the one where I was the first jumper. I see a shadow on the other side and I quickly sneak up to the person. It seems as if they want to jump, but are too scared to. Wait a minute, I know that back, I know who that fear belongs to : " Tobias!".
Oh no, I said it out loud without even realizing it. He turns around in shock and asks who's there , but I can hear that he's holding back tears. Did he recognize my voice?
" Tris?" My heart is pounding so hard and with a little voice I say " Yes?" .
Silence... It's all I can hear, all he can do, all that I can do. But I have to get closer, I need to.
So I run to him and try to find his hand in the dark. When I find it, his fingers instantly wrap around mine and he smiles. " Is this a dream?"
" No Tobias , I'm right here" " But you're dead, I mean, you're supposed to be dead" . As he says that, he touches my cheek with his other hand and the butterflies in my stomach flutter harder than they ever had. I have to tell him something, so I say " yeah, umm... about that... I ..." but he doesn't let me finish and I feel his lips pressed on mine. My lips instantly open up and I kiss him back. God, I had missed this so, so much. He pulls away , but I don't let him go far, and I hold him, my hands around his waist.
" You know ..." I start " I never really got to tell you something very important.." .
" And what's that?" He asked me that with a mischievous grin. " I love you Tobias Eaton, I love you".
