Dusk
☆
Prelude to TwilightEveryone is busy.
Children are frolicking amongst the green grass and adults are occupying themselves with the preparation for the Ceremony to be issued and led by the Hyrulean Princess.
'Twas to be held at dusk and until the first strike of moonlight, or so they've heard, but they know better than to think of the Princess' words as nothing but coherent. So, off the men went to gather and stock firewood, and off the women go to weave the cloth to be placed under the Wreath.
As everyone else in the new town of Hyrule are loaded not too much with their assigned duties, a certain pair busied themselves with the proper knowledge about the upcoming event. Or at least.. One of them.
"This is it, Link," Zelda whimsically smiles as she appears back from the hall she went to, having taken out a large rolled scroll from beneath a compartment of a shelf in the area.
She rolls it onto the rectangular table in the library, saying, "I've searched for hours for this exact scroll and I'm honestly surprised it hasn't went down along the rubbles a hundred and four years ago."'Along with the actuality that you haven't fallen asleep' she thinks.
The awestruck look in her protector's face makes her giggle.
His dazed state merely implied that he was lost in his reveries which resulted to being oblivious of the hastening flow of time.
"Are you aware of this writing, Link?"
He shakes his head timidly, a tad bit shy that he lacked the capacity to know even a shred of the purification ceremony nor the text that sums it up.
It looks an awful lot like Ancient Hylian, like those that are dated from the lands above the cloud.
Zelda hums as she skims over the entire brown parchment, cerulean eyes glimmering in wonder and fascination.
"Everything you need to know about Eventide is here..." she pauses briefly to observe a torn part in the scrollㅡthere is plenty, but she didn't mind, it could be because of the age of it or the damage inflicted upon it from long ago.
"... But as you can see, one certainly would not be able to read this in one sitting!" she huffs, "So I might as well discuss the gist of it." her additional statement, though not given a verbal reply, is taken into consideration for the Hero in Blue situated himself on a nearby chair.
Satisfied, Zelda lets her eyes skim across the brown parchment, limiting the mass of words into a decent summarized version short enough for the time to be consumed efficiently.
"Eventide's a purification ceremony done every four years after the defeat of evil. True to its purpose, it is the time when Eveㅡthe purity, is blessed all over the Kingdom. This ensures that evil shall transpire not before the next cycle of our successors are to come. Do you understand that bit?"
Link nods, eyes firm and locked.
Zelda hums once more.
"Elaborating, the Golden Goddesses of Old has written the Fate to come, and that's the successful vanquishment of evil in every Era. After that evilㅡCalamity Ganon, in our case, is no more, then the entities that will disrupt the peace of Hyrule must ceaseㅡbecause it's Fate, it's according to the Goddesses. The only evil recorded in Fate, in Destiny itself, is Ganon or any other who bears ill will to destruct the worldㅡnothing more and nothing less. And that destined evil shall not rise until our successors are brought into the world. That is the second purpose of the Eventide Ceremony, to ensure that the Fate written by the Goddesses remain intact and followed."
