Studying Has Gone Awry

Several hours had passed since Harry and Tom entered the library. Harry's left eye began to twitch from the strain the extensive studying has caused. The first time he had taken his O.W.L.S he was so consumed with The Order and his dreams that he really didn't have much time to study at all. Now that his life in the past has been significantly less dramatic he actually does have time to study.

"I swear if I have to read one more thing about the drought of living death or come up with more useless arithmetic solutions I'm going to scream," Harry sighed throwing his quill down on his parchment. The ink splattered all over the parchment leaving flecks of black over his notes and the table. Fate seemed to grant him a tiny break seeing as none of it landed on his books. Madam Prince surely would have had his head and banned him from the library in this life and his future life.

"What are you going on about Harry," Dmirty inquired as he takes a seat next to him.

"Nothing. I'm just preparing for our O.W.L. exams," Harry grumbled, digging for a new tab of parchment from his rucksack.

"Ahh I see. You have nothing to stress about, you've been preparing for this since fourth year," Dmitry reassured calmly.

"He's only this prepared because I made him prepare in fourth year," Tom smirked, returning carrying several large tomes and placing them next to his bag.

"What are you doing with those dusty things?" Harry inquired, ignoring Tom's last sentiment.

"Nothing you need to worry about sweet Harry. Just some N.E.W.T. stuff I need to go over," Tom smiled sweetly. He opened one of the large tomes and began flipping through the pages swiftly, close it then open another tome and browse through it; only to scan through another one. Harry was perfectly content watching Tom prepare for his N.E.W.T. exams then go over his  O.W.L. guides. He was enamored with the way Tom's eyebrow would scruff up and how his long fingers turned the expansive pages so delicately. "It's not in here," Tom murmured to himself breaking Harry from his daze.

"What not here, Tom?" Harry questioned, scrunching his eyebrows.

"Nevermind that," Tom replied gracefully getting up and wondering off to some other section of the library.

Harry felt dejected. Whenever Tom got even remotely vague about anything he thought the older boy was keeping secrets again. But Harry didn't want to come across as being too clingy or crazy, demanding that Tom tell him everything that goes on in his head and in his life.

"Just leave him be," Dmitry spoke appearing to read his thoughts. "I'm sure he's just as stressed about his N.E.W.T. exams as you are for the O.W.L.S. Speaking of that, Abraxas and Orion should be joining us soon."

Harry nodded his head and went back to reading about the Ancient Runes of Prague. When Abraxas and Orion arrive Harry and Tom will tell them about their relationship.

Soon after, Tom finally emerged from behind the towering bookshelves carrying two new tomes and joined the rest of the group at the table. Hopefully whatever the older boy was looking for was in there. Harry couldn't help but wonder what arcane knowledge is hidden deep within its pages but alas, Harry couldn't help but not care at the same time. His time trapped in the library was nowhere near ending, exams were still months away. Harry was just glad that Abraxas and Orion finally arrived so he can take a break from going over his extensive study guides.

"I knew we should have gotten here hours ago," Abraxas huffed while pulling out his ink and quill.

"I told you that you could had gone without me," Orion retorted, thumbing through his potions book.

"And leave you to come here all on your own? You'd never show up," Abraxas fired back.

"You should have just let him stay behind, he'd learn his lesson that way," Dmitry added, leaning in to get a better view of the drama that would ensue.
