context : violet reveals and comes out to louis how she feels/felt about clementine, despite the fact that louis likes clem too, slow burn to violet coming out to clouis

also let's just say minnie and violet dated in secret so only maybe 3 people knew about it? but louis isn't a part of those 3 people- he's just dense af here

She hated the way she felt, the way her feelings just outright betrayed her, and more importantly Louis

The blonde girl definitely saw the chemistry between them spark, even before she got to grasp onto her own feelings— Louis made the move

It was almost, just almost like she could get angry at her close friend, but she had little to no right too, Louis wasn't aware of something like this. And she was afraid to what might happen to their friendship afterwards

So subconsciously, Violet began to distance herself from Louis, to make sure he was nowhere near the truth. As much as it hurt her, and the confused dread-head, it felt like she needed to.

Violet also tried to avoid the brunette, Clementine; but she couldn't— not with the rapid heartbeat which the emerald eyed girl thought was erratic, betraying her even more, and the fact that Clementine knew what to do.

So the blonde sat alone in her room, trying to pass the free time she had. She could've.. maybe done something more productive, but instead— she laid inside her room scrambled on her bed

And the dreaded conversation— no pun intended, came through

"Okay, did I do something?" Violet sat upright to meet his chocolate colored eyes, his expression was calm, and serious. The polar opposite to his day-to-day personality

"No."

"Then why are you avoiding me?" He crosses his arms "I'm not as stupid as you think I am, you do this everytime something bad happens."

She sighs "So I can't avoid you?"

"You're avoiding the conversation." Her green eyes sent a glare along his way, and he sighs

"Look uh— I just need you to be honest with me. I known you since forever, and well, vice versa." He gives her a sad smile "I might be able to adjust, for you."

Violet sits against the wall, the floor creaking under them "It's hard to say it, I don't know if I can explain something like this so easily."

"You don't have to, if you don't feel like it— but I preferred it if you did, well- more like also Clem." The freckled boy sits beside her in silence

She blinks "Clem asked you?" And he nods, and now she just felt obligated to tell him

She sighs, glancing at him, and onto the book "Clementine," Louis raises an eyebrow "What about her?"

"Let me finish, doofus." And he whispers a short apology, and she continues

"You know that one night, where you were just going on and on, about how Clementine looked at you while running errands, and that she touched your hand during fishing?" The silence resumes once more, the pale girl looks at her friend, he's still listening

He nods, and she continues "I hate the way I'm feeling, and especially on how i'm projecting it, even though I know you and Clem are happy."

"What are you feeling?" He asks, the calm eyes looking into her own orbs "Jealous. I might even be crazy, and pass it off as obsession."

Louis stays silent, not cracking a joke, or bombarding questions "Clementine. I hated the way she touched your hand during fishing, or that she was just looking at you," She takes a deep breath

"I wanted her to look at me. I wanted her to stare at me with those damned  golden eyes, I wanted her to touch my hand during fishing," Louis didn't express anything, nothing. Like really nothing, not even shock.

She looks away, almost as she was ashamed "And I hate it so much, Seeing that you're happy and I'm feeling this way."

Louis finally speaks, and it felt like forever ago "..But Clem's a girl?" Violet looks at him, and only it clicked to him. "..Oh alright."

Louis cracks into a smile "I'm glad you told me, Vi." He holds his arms out, which Violet gives a baffled look in return "Just because I'm in a relationship with Clementine, doesn't mean your feelings aren't valid."

Violet hesitated at first, but she reels into the hug, embracing the dread-headed boy, resting her head on her shoulder as he cooed her

After a bit, he lets go "So you mean to tell me, you and Minnie weren't just friends?" Violet smacks him on the shoulder and he hisses, "Hey!"

"Good grief Louis, you mean to tell me that after a year, you figured it out?" He laughs nervously

And the door creaks open, and Clementine rests near the door, She folds her arms. Her gesture confused the blonde, unsure if she was mad and overheard everything, or not

Louis looks over to Violet, and then to Clementine— "Sit down, Clem. Violet wants to say something" Clementine closes the door behind her

"Oh god, no—" Violet's pale skin gets washed over with redness, she timidly looks away

Clementine tilts her head "What is it?" She asks

Violet paused, for a mere moment— and then she spoke "I like you, and I hate myself for it, and I'm sorry if you don't want to be friends with me anymore."

Louis huffs "Wow, that was a lot more blunt than I.." Violet jabs him with her elbow, and he hisses

Clementine didn't say much afterwards "I know how that felt."

"Really?" Violet replies, stoked "So are you.."

"I don't know really, I remember long ago when I was still traveling and finding AJ, I met a few people— and one of them used to be a girl I liked. But I lost interest quickly."

Clementine continued, shifting in her place "I guess I like both guys and girls."

Louis smiles from ear to ear, kissing Clementine on the cheek "I'm proud of you too, and I still love you anyways." Clementine laughs "Thanks, piano boy."

Clementine opens her arms for the two of them to embrace, and for the first time— Violet is no longer jealous.
