And the whole of the world shook. The mountains moved as the land swelled and sank. The Mount of Carnak vanished from all known maps and the Tear of Earoni was hidden from the Blood Lord who sought to use it's might for his own evil ends.
Account of Miracles Verse 391
"Keep your sword up." Gregory lunged in as he scolded Sheala over her lax defenses. He came with a blow she blocked easily, as was his intent.
"Maybe I was trying to trick you." She made a return stroke that Gregory also had a little trouble handling. "Why are you going easy on me?" Calling his bluff, Sheala swung twice more, pushing him back three steps across the Oracle's main deck.
"Who says I'm going easy on you?"
Another easy block for Sheala followed, along with a frustrated grunt. "Stop it! Come at me like you want to take my head off!"
With a smirk, Gregory gave her exactly what she wanted and turning the tables on her while placing the thief on the defensive. "Your offense is still lacking." However, even though Gregory tried to break through her defenses, she was able to intercept his every move. "But I am impressed by your improved defense."
Staying on the balls of her feet, Sheala's mind focused on both her footwork and swordplay simultaneously. The shifting of the Oracle's deck added an element of difficulty to the confrontation that lacked from previous matches. She concentrated more on her balance than she would have liked. Although her plan to deal with Gregory's superior skill seemed to work. "I'm content to wear you out and wait for a mistake."
Gregory noticed that, despite sparring for a while, Sheala had had only recently broken into a sweat. His skin already shimmered in the sun from the moisture he exuded, but he was far from tired. "That's a might be a good strategy one on one, or against a less skilled foe." Another attack from him was blocked. "But what if you're against multiple opponents? You must eliminate as many of them as quickly as possible. You need to learn how to turn an opponent's assault into your own opportunity. Switch from defense to offense." Steel rang again as Sheala canceled his next attempt. "You can't assume that your opponent will ever make a mistake."
