Misery, they say, loves company
And my heart alone cannot wrench, implode
Under the pressure of a lost cause.
A nullity, albeit not stillborn,
Is now the mainstay
But nay, I cannot remain, I cannot stay.
The cause of this loss, I can also not say
My heart is in tatters and my lips are sealedMy hero died, and now, I am the villain,
The villain in my own story. As for the Consequences, all mine.
Hell, justice is a congested road with a bypass.
I took that bypass
Then, I feared I had been cut short in my shot
At redemption. But for want of blanks,
I may just have hit the mark."Divide and conquer", the monarch said
Those were my wishes, my yearnings
I could not bear to be down alone
It was all too lonely. An eternal night,
Replete with a blizzard and disintegration.
Summer was coming and I was all for it.
It was the killing blow and I would not die soloBut then came the new hero, totally averse
To divide and conquer;
Who preferred to cede what was all hers to me
As long as there was no split
She knew no division, but she conquered.
But I finally knew division,
And my shattered heart ran into smithereens.
