Tell me, honestly,
And with all sincerity-
Is your heart in one place?
Is it stationary? Or is it disparate?
Do you mean to tell me,
That it's harder than a diamond;
Even more shimmering, more lustrous?
Is it more focused than the pointiest lasers?
More shocking than a taser?
Does it cut deep, deep under your skin?
Deep down the rivers of blood,
Oceans of passion, hurt and burning desire
Such that to reach for it,
Is to fathom the unthinkable?
To dream like a deeply ignorant child,
Prior to the moment the real world collides
With no mercy, and with maximum impact?
Tell me, honestly
If the world collides, with maximum impact,
Will your heart remain in one place?
Like an incumbent's cronies after a coup,
Will your loyalty fade?
