Y/n's POV

"Practice has to be canceled today guys," I announce. Most of them were glad except a certain person. They hadn't had a break in a while.

"Why does it need to be canceled?" Oikawa whines.

"The coach got sick so he has to rest up today. He said he'd be back tomorrow. If he isn't, then I'll supervise the team," I tell them.

"Why can't you supervise the team today?" Oikawa asked. I don't even know why he keeps asking. He should really be taking the day off and rest.

"We all have our own lives so coach thought it would be a good idea to take a break today. You're dismissed so go home and do homework or something. Rest up," All of the boys left except for Oikawa.

"Oikawa just go home," I instructed him knowing what he was going to say.

"But I want to practice!"

"You should really take this day off Oikawa. Remember what I told about overworking yourself?" I ask raising a brow. He slumps down and puts his hands together.

"Please, just for a little bit!" He begs. I stare at him for a few minutes deciding if I should let him practice when he should be taking a break. He does the puppy dog eyes but I don't really fall for it. If this how far he's gonna go then oh well.

"Fine. But I decide when your practice is over," I gave in. His face lightens up and he runs to the boys change room to get changed. I just sit on the bench and wait for him to get out. When he does he grabs a ball and stands behind the serving line. But he just stands there.

"Is there something wrong?" I ask.

"Can you practice with me? You can just receive them. I mean, you are one of the only people that can receive my serves," He says. I think for a moment. It wouldn't hurt to practice. I haven't really played in a while since I was usually just watching the boys practice.

"Sure why not?" I answer. Before I practiced I went into the girl's change room to get ready. I put on my knee pads and tied my hair up then made my way out. I positioned myself in the middle of the court opposite from Oikawa.

"Ready?" He asks.

"Yup! Come at me with all you got, Captain," I smirk. He backed up a little then started running, jumped, and hit the ball with all his strength. It was fast but I could see where it was going. He was aiming for the back corners. I quickly shuffled to the back, got under the ball and bumped it right back to Oikawa.

"Wow, you're good," Oikawa compliments.

"Not too bad yourself. Let's do a few more."

By the time I ended the practice, I noticed how dark it was outside. Wow, we practiced for that long. Well, I guess time does by quickly when you're having fun. When I exited the change room, Oikawa was already waiting for me at the door.

"Ready to go?" He asks and I nod. We walk out of the gym and the night breeze felt so nice. "That was fun," I say.

"Yeah. I was obviously way better than you though," He confidently says. Was I hearing him right. He was better than me? I don't think so.

"What are you talking about? I'm way better at receiving than you."

"I'm better at serving and setting. Ha jokes on you," He says sticking his tongue out.

"Well I'm way faster than you."

"Oh really?"

"Yeah, I could probably beat you in a race," I added.
