Adesua is forced to attend a new school against her wishes. Fortunately for her, she finds her first love in the same school with her.

I really hated having to do what I did but I think it was for the best. I was tired of pretending and I didn't want to break his heart later.
He was really shocked when I called it quits. I didn't want to but I had to.
I couldn't sleep that night. I kept thinking that Akin didn't deserve someone like me. He deserved someone better. I just hated having to break this news to him a few days to his next examination.
I'm just an average teenager who lost both parents in a fire accident at the tender age of seven. I was very lucky to have survived. The proprietress adopted me and I had been living with her ever since.
No one else at school except Akin knew this and I made him promise not to tell anyone.
I did feel a bit sad that he was leaving in a few months but I shrugged it off.
Adesua and I were still best friends and we were studying hard for our GCE exams.

Gabriella bumped into Chioma on her way to the bathroom and she laughed. It was the last day of the term. Gabriella sighed as she took her bath. After today,she might not see him again.
She hurried back to the room and smiled when she saw her dress.

******* Her phone rang out just then and she picked it without checking the caller ID.
"Hello" she said
"Hey,it's me. Can you come outside for a minute? I want to talk to you."
"Why?"
"Just come out please."
"Okay but you have to make it quick."
" I promise. "
Gabriella hung up and threw her phone on the bed. She pounded her fists together and threw on a white shirt and a jeans skirt. She took her phone and went outside to meet Debo.
He hugged her immediately he saw her but she didn't return the hug. He wondered why and looked at her only to see anger flashing through her eyes.
"Gabriella, what's wrong? You don't look too good." He asked, holding her hand
"Nothing much. I just have a headache." She replied
"Are you sure?"
"I'm fine! See be fast with what you want to say. I don't have time jare." She said angrily
"Gabby, " he began,taking her hand. His touch sent a shiver down her spine.
"I wanted to say thank you "
"For what? "
"Everything. You helped me out with Adesua even at the expense of your relationship. I just couldn't help but wonder why you did that. When Akin told me that you broke up with him, I was really surprised but happy at the same time."
"Why are you happy that I broke up with Akin? I just had to because I knew I might never see him again and that would only leave heartbroken. " Gabriella said
Tears were dripping down her face already and she struggled to wipe them away. She didn't want Debo to see her like this. The last time she cried was when her parents died.
"Gabriella, I want to know why you keep doing things to hurt yourself. You care too much about other people. "
"What do you know about me? You've toyed with my emotions for almost two years and now you are here telling me bullshit. Please,if you don't have anything to say, I need to take my leave." Gabriella said
She turned to leave but he pulled her back.
"Wait,there's one more thing I need to tell you."
"And what might that be?"
"I think I'm in love with you "
