Chapter 25: Preparing The Stage

"...Oh and you know, all those people and monsters that tried to 'murder' us!"Jaune complained as we all walked through a stone passageway, Ruby laughed 

"Pfft, we were fine, only one of us almost died...again." She said, elbowing me

"Hey." I said, another 'hey' could be heard from Ren, Obsidian groaned

"Hey Feathers are we there yet?" She asked, looking up at Qrow

"Feathers?" He asked

"She has nicknames for everyone from when she couldn't speak and she refuses to drop them, isn't that right 'sweetie'?" I asked patting her head as she glared at me, I had found out that while she doesn't mind calling me 'Father' she hates being referred to as 'sweetie' so I always use it to wind her up

"Well, were almost there, kind of figured I'd take you kids on the scenic route." He said as we walked up to a large pair of metal doors, he reached forward and slid them to the side, revealing a beautiful sight, Ruby immediately ran across to the fence and gazed into the city, JNPR walked up to her right along with Qrow, while me, my team and Obsidian walked over to her left, my breath was completely gone, there was a sparkling waterfall cascading from a small hole carved in the cliff into the river below next to homes homes that sprawled up the sides of the mountain, making the most of the space there was, winding stone paths could be seen off in the distance

I tuned out as Qrow went on about the marketplace, where the vendors would sell both legal and illegal goods and that each of Mistrals 'levels' basically meant a different level of wealth between citizens, I was caught off guard by Noire

"Hey, do you mind if we go shopping for a bit? I need to resupply on some ammo." She asked the group, there was a collection of agreements, Qrow sighed and pressed a button on the side of the wall, there was a clunking noise as the entire platform we stood on lowered, we hit one of the lower floors and disembarked, we split into groups, I ended up with Jaune and Pyrrha in mine. As we strolled through the marketplace, I decided to ask them something

"So, how are you two doing?" They both simply replied with 'fine', I glared at them

"You two both know what I mean, I ain't pulling strings with fate here just to find out you broke up over what one-liners to use in battle." I said pointing between the two of them, I saw Pyrrha look away and mumble

"There were so many...They were so bad..." I smiled and looked to Jaune who had gone a light shade of pink

"I-I would say we're doing well." Jaune said, nervously taking Pyrrhas hand, I smiled

"Good, good, ooh what have we here?" I said, stopping at one of the stalls, the merchant there greeted me

"Why hello and welcome to Majs masks! How can I help you?" They said, I smiled at them

"I need a mask, nothing too crazy, just plain and simple will do as long as it covers my face." The merchant nodded before pulling out a plain white mask, it had two glassy parts over the eyes , I tried it on, I could see through the glass from my side perfectly well, but you couldn't see my eyes through it, I paid the merchant for it before putting it on, Jaunes eyes were narrowed
