Evil

I wasn't born lawless

     but found that it's true

that if you don't break them

     the rules will break you

I wasn't born shiftless

     but at length agreed

that labour is pointless

     where cheaters succeed

I wasn't born loveless

     but I've grown to know

that I will find hatred

     wherever I go

I wasn't born heartless

     but now understand

that mercy's a weakness

     in backstabbers' land

I wasn't born shameless

     but soon realised

wrongs will be allowed for

     with all the right lies

I wasn't born ruthless

     but mustered the will

to take needed measures

     when blood must be spilled

I wasn't born treacherous

     but learned from my youth

that nothing can hurt you

     much more than the truth

Remember when looking

     on all that I've done:

I wasn't born evil

     it's what I've become.
