I've tried convincing you that I'm unique

You, though, can tell that I'm just a lame freak

     My personality's wholly synthetic

     Feel free to pity me, I'm just pathetic.

I've tried conversing about your interests

It's clear to you that I'm out of my depth

     Comments so meaningless and parenthetic

     Why don't you pity me, I'm just pathetic.

I've tried dynamic, sardonic, sincere

Ended up exhausting your will to care

     Repulsion's the only way I'm magnetic

     You ought to pity me, I'm just pathetic.

I've tried persuading you it's just my style

You think if that's so, I'm not worth your while

     Awkward pastiche is my only aesthetic

     Oh, won't you pity me, I'm just pathetic.

You see right through me, just like all the rest

Know I'm a loser, a poser, a pest

     All I can be now is apologetic

     Go ahead, pity me, I'm just pathetic.
