Rhyme For Some Reason

Darkness

Unrelenting, darkness falls

Windows blacken into walls

     Deep within

namelessly familiar voices call

Crying empty, striking blind

Echoes rolling through my mind,

     closing in

Passing hours leaving me behind

Burnt-out anger, glacial dread

Screams besieged inside my head

     Can't they see?

Maybe they'll start wondering once I'm dead

Unexpected, darkness leaves

Walls withdraw- or so I feel

     Who are we-

     you and me-

to say it wasn't real?
