The man hopped off his horse and glanced around.
Oregon Territory was different than he expected. And definitely not where any of them thought the girl might go. But then, maybe that's why she came here.
He tied the horse to a hitching post and walked into the saloon, ready for a whiskey that would, unfortunately, be watered down. It was also a good time for him to find out information. And maybe also some entertainment. Or both.
He sat down at the bar, "Excuse me, what town am I in?"
The man behind the bar replied, "You're in Cascade Falls."
"How far is Phantom Maiden from here?"
"Just over two hours to the north by horse. But I'd steer clear of there. People up there aren't normal."
The first man nodded his thanks and ordered his whiskey. Tomorrow he'd get there. And then he'd find her.
