This must be the place
where I
will find myself,
lose the worries,
in the middle of the lavender blooms. This must be the place
where I finally smell the sweetness
of summer
that I've missed.This must be
a world from my dreams
where flowers remain
untouched
unbridled
to grow without harassment
for us to cherish.Here
is the place
where I watch afternoons flee
into sunset, semidarkness
without regret.
Where
I am free
to watch the flowers in their dance,
as wind creates a cadence
that no one else can hear. Now
I am at peace
with the world-
I know my dimension
my place
my space
in time.
Now,
I am slower
observant
as I lift my gaze to the dusky sky,
and dip my nose
to the pale purple petals
carefree
calm
confident
that this is the place where I must be.
