but I'm wide awake/
they don't see what's at stake/
my mental state quakes for all the debate/
I can no longer wait, I'm late for a very important date/
I'm lost in a sea of troubles, watching as my nerves shake/
they all act like life is a piece of cake/
some have it better than others, many become fake/
it gets harder while we raise our cups/
and put them down as we relapse for the emotional rut/
it's a knife in our back and a slash in our gut/
this one goes out to those too poor to even play putt putt/
I know it seems like your out of luck/
like you wanna run in front of a truck/
but just look up at the sky/
do you not understand even some birds can't fly/
but they push through, when they want to cry/
the love when they want to die/
so all I'm asking is for you to try/
not gonna lie, it's even hard for me sometimes/
but I look up high, and pray on better days/
ones without the constant fray/
blues skies without endless gray/
even rain stops sometimes, so don't fret, just wait to play/
so when life comes at your with a bag of bricks, just grab the sledgehammer and slay/
