Jakes POV
I lay in my bed after cleaning outside up. There's a knock at the door and I go and answer. There stands a man in a suit

?- I'm here regarding your mother passing away
J- oh yeah come in

I bring inside and we sit at the kitchen table talking about money, her will and just shit like that. After a bit he leaves and I sit there stunned by the information that he told me. I get up and go into my room. I stand in front of my dresser and a couple tears fall as I'm looking at the picture. Some of Me and Erika and then some of my mom and me. I turn around see that I have to get to the diner. I rush to get changed and then head there.

2 months later
Jakes POV
Sunday the day that your supposed to spend with your loved ones but I guess I have none now. I sit on the couch waiting for anyone to walk through that door to love me. Things are really hard because all I've been doing is going to work and just thinking. The thinking part is the hardest, I think if I did this or that then the people around me would still be here. Time goes by so slowly, I get days where I'm good and happy but most are me depressed and sad. but right now I'm really happy. I decided to go to the park and skate around. I put a hoodie and shorts on and head out. As I skate into the park I see kids and families walking around playing with the leaves. I pull my bag off of my back and take bread out. I go sit near the pond and throw bread and ducks start to come. I smile as a little kid comes and sits beside me

?-I'm Ollie
J- I'm jake
O- can I throw some
J- here you go dude

I give him some bread and he throws little pieces in the water. After a bit of him talking about school and his family the breads all gone

O- thanks for letting me feed the ducks
J- no problem

He shakes my hand and I'm surprised for a 8 year old to do that. He runs off and I get up putting my bag on. I leave the park skating home. The apartment has become cleaner then ever looks like a brand new one. I open the door and I walk in. I hear running and I see him. Archie my little puppy that I found like 5 weeks go. He's a Pomeranian and he's probably the 2nd cutest thing ever. I set him down and he runs to his bowl.

J- I'm guessing your hungry

He barks and I laugh at him putting some food in his bowl. I sit on the couch and later he comes jumping on my lap. 

J- hey little guy

I kiss his head and he jumps up going to the front door

J- you want to go for a walk

He barks and I grab his ball and I get up going to him. I grab his leash and hook it to his collar. We leave the house and we head to the soccer fields. We get there and I take the leash off and he goes running.

J- Archie!

I throw his ball and he goes after it

Erika's POV
I walk over to the field with my friends as we all talk. We get there and we sit on the bleachers talking about drama and boys. This little dog comes running over. The girls get up and start to pet him. I get up too and my eyes meet him. Jake. I smile at him and pet his dog. The girls play with the dog and I get up and grab his wrist bringing him over behind the benches. He grabs my face and kisses me. We both smile into the kiss. I pull back

E- did you replace me with a dog?
J- I could never Archie's cute but not as cute as you
E- I'm sorry for leaving you like that
J- I get it, it's not your fault. It was needed

Archie appears beside us

E- I'll stop by later?
J- yeah

He smiles and then walks around the bleachers leaving. I walk back out to the girls and we continue our talk

Jakes POV
Even though I was mad that Erika and I weren't together it was needed for me to focus on me and just me. Archie runs in my room and into my bed. He starts to lick my face

E- my turn

I look up and see Erika standing at the door. I smile at her and she climbs from the bottom of the bed to my side and props herself up with her elbow. Archie jumps off the bed and leaves my room. I go on my side and place my hand on her waist.

J- you look really hot right now *smiles*
E- *smiles* yeah?
J- yeah

I prop myself up and kiss her

J- I really missed you
E- Me too
J- what did you do for the two months

I lay on my back and bring Erika down so her head is on my chest. I pick her hand up and play with her ring.

E- Nothing really. The first month I was just thinking of you.
J- *sarcastically* how thoughtful
E- *sarcastically* I know right

We just talk for a bit until I speak up

J- are we like gonna-

I point between us

E- I'm all for it
J- will you-wait *smiles*

I get up and go into the kitchen grabbing a fake flower. I grab Archie and go back to my room. I stand at the end of the bed

J- will you be my girlfriend? *Smiles*
E- I would love too

I put Archie down and put the flower on my dresser and pull Erika up and kiss her

J- was it Archie that made you say yes?
E- yeah

I tickle her until we land on the bed.

E- I love you
J- wow so early into the relationship to say that
E- I know three years is a long time
