"I hate this"
"I hate you"
"I hate this forced marriage"
"I hate keeping this a secret"
"Don't come near me, Don't touch me, Don't even look at me"

"You can hate this"
"You can hate me"
"You can hate this forced marriage"
"You don't have to keep it a secret"
"I won't go near you, I won't touch you, I won't even spare a glance at you"
"Just know, all the bad days—"
"They're nothing to me, with you"

I looked at the mirror, the long big white dress flowing in different directions.

i kept fidgeting with my fingers nervously.

my stomach kept turning as i walked back and fourth.

how has it already been six months?

time has flown by so fast—
i remembered the day this was all arranged and planned.

my mind kept spiraling as i tried calming down my nerves.

~six months ago~

"eomma why are we here, why did you bring me here?, please answer me"

i begged and pleaded to know the reason.

i was still in my school uniform, while my parents were wearing fancy expensive clothing they only wear for specific occasions.

we walked into one of the most expensive restaurants known in seoul.

we sat down at a private waiting room on the 25th floor.

my parents sat down whispering to each other as they kept looking outside of the room.

i kept shaking my mother's arm begging her to tell me what was going on.

she just coldly shook off my grasp.
why is she acting like this?

my father sat there quiet as well and would shoot a glare at every time i turn to ask him the same question.

after a couple of minutes i saw the waitress come up to our table, whispering something in my mother's ear

what i tried to make out seemed to be "they are here"
who's here?

i watch my mother nod to my father as they both stood up and walked out.

"stay here y/n" my mother said patting my head gently.

the sent of her strong perfume on her hand lingered in my hair.

i tried asking again what was going on, until i got an answer "you'll see eventually—"

they walked off while i sat there alone, confused, and somewhat hurt at their sudden actions.

i felt my face warm as tears were welling up, i quickly wiped my tears before they fell.

i sat there patiently waiting until i heard familiar voices.

i leaned my head to the edge of the table and saw my grandparents.

they lived all the way in gwangju and would have to take a very long flight to visit, which is why they rarely come to visit.

i examined my grandparents expensive outfits.
they were similarly dressed like my parents, i began worrying even more.
