I slowly step from The Prize corner, watching my silhouette outlined by the warm lights of the adorning sign upon the entrance With each step further away, My swinging limbs cast darkness in their outward movement until gradually the warm light didn't settle on my back anymore, and my figure faded with the shadows.

I turn back with the need to look for something, but I couldn't understand what for and it faded quickly and slipped from my mind. So I just stared at the prize corner, waiting, thinking, trying to remember.

The necklace lay in my palm, I open my fingers and observe it once more. Even in the dim coloured lighting that lined the halls, the stone shined with a certain glow that emanated its purity. it was indeed on the heavier side for its penny size... something of real value... not just a cheap kid's prize.

For what was delightful to know that the animatronic had recognised me, now looking back at it in the eye of this jewel, every time I saw him, I felt eyes staring back at me.

Even if all the animatronics were upgraded... There was no logical explanation for him to remember me.

the thought really should have shocked me more than this... but for some reason all my nerves were numb of the ability to even sense anxiety...

The attachment was so natural like there was an invisible cord connecting the two of us together, and I can never understand it fully. But what I did know that linked us together in morbid fate was that Marianys and I were the only ones who didn't disappear that night.

"Come with me, You must leave now. There-"

"But my friends! my friends are still here! Where did they go Mari?!"

"...Please, we need to go. Come (Y/N)... I promise I will do my best to find them..."

I look back to the Prize Corner, tempted to go back in and find out the true nature of this animatronic. but as I slid my hands into my jean pockets. There, I was reminded of what I brought with me, so I feel around and pinch the corner of the envelope holding my precious picture. I pull up the polaroid, only just making out the faces in the dim lighting.

All six of us huddled together, with Marianys in the back extending his long arms out and around us in a big hug for the photo. On the left, Fritz was chuckling beside Jeremy and Gabriel. the latter had caught onto the boy's laughter while the former only let a slight smirk slip by. On the right was Susie and I, we had big cheesy grins, both of us wearing the little crowns we made for each other in the arts room. And beside me, in the middle of us all was Caspian, his hand clinging onto mine, with a surprising smile on the birthday boys lips.

It was the first-ever time I could remember him being smiling like that.

"Happy birthday..." I whisper under my breath while looking into each of the faces. I caught onto my younger self grinning, I knew it was me but I still couldn't really recognise myself. Meeting my eyes, those shadowed little dots.

A whispery flow of rushing cold breeze tingled my skin, the sensation strikes me and I flailed back in shock. I lost grip on poloid picture and it skittering across the tiles.

Jeez (Y/N), out of all the things to be afraid of...

I huffed and walk along the hall, scanning my eyes for that picture, which inconveniently blended in with the flooring and was indeterminable from the dim lighting. Every conceding second I remained searching, the more I begin to fear that I had lost my most precious item.

I get to my knees, crawling, hands outreach with my fingers touching any spare space of flooring. I hunch over, weakening, my eyes started to swell with fresh salty tears.

"No... please no. not again." I dryly protest. This was something I refused to lose. I start huffing, anxiety pushing out every breath I needed to take in. Then, my hand met something fuzzy yet rubbery, dressed in cords i recognised as shoelaces. I stumble back with a jolt and the heat of embarrassment burns my skin, looking up, someone was there.

"Oh, I'm uh- I'm sorry I didn't mean to bump into you... i was just..." As I was dusting myself off and providing awkward explanation, the figure caught me attention and I was trapped in a whole other world of suspicion.

They were quite tall and large in stature, donned in a dark hoodie and dark jeans, though his hood was not up, I couldn't catch even the slightest feature of their face, only the glowing outline of fair hair from the lights. They held something between their hand and looked intently, they were as stiff and silent as anything. In that hand, I saw the polaroid film glisten.

"I uh..." I spoke quietly, The tall man's head raised a little. "I was just... looking for that."

"What is this?" he spoke, that voice sounded so very familiar. although the stranger was intimidating, something about that voice seemed sincerely interested.

"It's a... a photo... my friends and I at a birthday party here when I was young."

The stranger froze, a silky lock of dirty blonde hair feel from under his hood. his fingers, dirty and blackened with grime seemed to tremble under his grip.

I tentatively pinched the polaroid from his hand, carefully observing his movements. Once I had a hold on the photograph I sighed with relief and began to spin on my heel.

"Wait-" A sharp grip fastened around my wrist and I was pulled back, closer to the stranger than ever before. beneath that hood was an empty blackness, nose feature to even make out, and that disturbed me to the very core.

"Let go!" I yelped. With my other hand I pushed back against him as hard as I could. his grip let up and I stumble to the ground. I shot back up and shuffle back, ready to fight back.

But in that moment I froze, for there was nobody there at all.
