Charlie's P.O.V.

I take a seat in bio-med. Today was the last day in class to work on this project and it was due Monday. I didn't feel like doing anything at all. Just realizing I forgot to feed the cat. Maybe he has some left in his bowl from the other day I hope. Otherwise he'd have to wait until after school. I groan as I put my head down on the cold metal table. "Charlie?" I peak over my arm in front of me to see Kailyn. A cheer leader on varsity. She was damn good at it. But her relationships weren't. She always chose the worst guys to be with. She was smart, beautiful and talented. She always chose the worst crowd to hang with but some how still managed to be at the top in our school. Fake it to make it I guess. Her and I have always been friends growing up we've just drifted but kept in touch. I take a better look at her fully sitting in my chair. She's wearing our school cheer uniform. Red and gold. Her dark hair in a tight ponytail. Go Warriors. "Hm?"

"Can you help me?" She points to a article on the iPad she shoves me way. The article talked about many scattered things. Not the best source of information. "What is it you're looking for?" She sighs. "We're on the topic of the deadly disease known as Ebola and we have a lot of information but need more." I nod. "Try more of the news sources than websites, heard there was another outbreak in Africa recently." She nods. "Also science centers that have done research on this." She smiles. "Thank you." I return a smile. She's still facing towards me. As she's typing away at her iPad. "There was actually something else I wanted to talk about." There it is. "Okay?" I ask unsure of what she wants to speak on.

"You and Landon?" She asks. I look at her. She takes notice of my confused expression. "Are you two...?" I get the hint. "No, we're just Bestfriends." She nods. "Of course...but I can't help but notice he's so different around you." I'm taken back by what she's saying. "What do you mean?" She sets the iPad down. "He's very soft when he's around you, like he looks at you a way that I can't explain but he doesn't look at anyone else the way he does you." "What are you implying?" "That he likes me?" She looks at me for a moment. Nodding. "Yeah." She says with a sadness in her voice. I think for a moment. We have always playfully flirted back and forth. But it's never gone further. "Did he say anything to you?" I ask out of curiosity. Her expression changes sadden even more. "Yeah he does all the time actually, he talks about you constantly." I'm confused. Do they hangout? I thought to myself. I thought it would be best to not poke more at this matter. "Look all I'm saying is as your friend maybe it's a good idea to talk about your guys feelings for each other." I agree.

She turns back around and chats with her partners. I see in the door way a familiar face. It was Tom. He takes a seat at a table to my left. He notices me. Doing a little wave. I smile waving back. I never noticed he was in this class. Partially cause he never spoke. He was always quiet. I feel a presence take a seat to my right. It was Landon. I see Kailyn glance at us. Quickly looking away before anyone noticed although I had seen it. This is weird. "Hey." I look at him. "Hey." He looked extremely tired. Bags were very clear on his under eyes. "How late did you stay up?" "You look like death." He chuckles. "And you look great yourself." I roll my eyes. He was trying to be a dick but I wasn't gonna let him. He scratches his neck. "I just haven't been sleeping good again." "It's nothing to worry about." With that being said I needed to be worried. Made me wonder if his dad was responsible for this, knowing Landon and his dad weren't the best pair. "Let's just gets this thing finished." He says referring to the project. "Yeah." I nod in agreement.

It was social studies and about twenty minutes until the lunch bell. This class was my worst one. The longest class. I sat in the back by myself usually. But today I was accompanied by some of the football players and another girl from the cheer team. I recognized the one guy. He hung out with Landon a lot. Bryan I think his name was. I had my earbuds in listening to my indie playlist. Clairo to be exact. Her concert was in a month and I was so excited to go. But my tunes get interrupted by the jock. "Hey Charlie." I pause my music pulling a bud out. "What?" I ask out of annoyance. He looks at me funny but pushes it past him. "Your gonna be at that party tomorrow right?" I'm intrigued. "Who's asking?" He smiles. "Just curious is all." Parties were occasionally fun but not the kind where you drink alcohol mixed with god knows what. Surrounded by people whose clothes are half off of them and grinding and twerking to some Cardi B song. Not my type of party. I didn't go to many but I'm also Bestfriends with the party type. Landon was always at these. "Maybe." He's intrigued. "It's supposed to be the best party, this weekend of homecoming." He wasn't wrong the people who threw parties on homecoming night was always fun. The best ones were always on homecoming and prom weekend. "Like I said, maybe." He nods.
