Oc...

Yeah, I have a problem.

This is pretty angsty.

Tw: Suicide. Self-doubt. Self-hatred. Lying.

Yeah...

Sorry guys.

*? pov*

"I am a normal completely ordinary teenage girl."

The wind rippled around me.

I took another step forward.

'Bridges. How original.'

"I am a normal completely ordinary teenage girl. And there is nothing special about me."

I heard someone land behind me.

'Nightwing. About time.'

"Listen I know you are probably going through something right now. But you don't have to do this. I think-"

"You know what I think-" I interrupted, "I think we're all characters."

"What?"

I waved my hands around. "Something completely made up. Think about it. How is Batman not dead? How are you not dead? Why are there so many Robins?"

I stopped for breath.

"You need to go to a-"

"Let me finish!"

I turned to face him.

A white tank top dress was maybe not the best choice for a suicide mission.

"It makes no logical sense. Superman. Green Lantern. These things should be impossible."

"Yes. But they aren't, " he sounded desperate, "So you need to step down."

I sighed.

*Dick pov*

The girl sighed.

"Listen, Richard."

I felt my back stiffen.

"How do you-"

"Some characters are smart. Tim figured it out. Didn't he?"

I stared into her eyes. They were chestnut. And smart. Oh so smart.

"But-"

"I told you. Were in a book. Or a comic book."

"Why we're you saying what you were saying."

She looked confused.

"You said 'I am a normal completely average teenage girl.'"

"Oh! That!"

She seemed excited...

'This is probably bad.'

She pointed to herself. A smile on her lips.

"I'm a side character."

"What?"

"In the story. I figured it out. Why my life seemed so... bleh. I'm the girl who tries to kill herself. You save me of course. And then I live happily ever after. And you don't see me till three years later and I save you as you saved me. Because you inspired me to become a doctor."

She waved her hand around. Her smile faded.

"Here's the thing. I don't want that. I want to be..."

She tapped her chin.

"The main character I guess."

"I'm sorry?" I really didn't understand what she was saying.

"In saying. I. Am. A. Side. Character. And I'm sick of it. Who knows. Maybe I'm part of a one-shot with am Oc in it, " she threw her arms in the air out of anger, "Growing up I always thought I was the main character. I thought I mattered."

Tears filled her eyes. They ran down her pale cheeks glistening in the moonlight.

"But here's the thing. Side characters don't usually know they are side characters. So they can affect the story in big ways."

She smiled.

"So ask your self a question, Grayson."

"Wait?!?"

She seemed confused that I interrupted her speech.

"What's your name."

"Kasey. Boring I know. But it works., " she shrugged.

"Last name?"

If she jumped I needed to tell her family. Personally.

"Side characters don't have last names."

She stated this with a blank look.

I sighed.

"Now back to what I was saying, " she began taking steps back, "You need to ask your self a question, Grayson."

She grinned. Her eyes had a wild look in them now.

"Are you a side character? Or the main character?"

Then she pushed herself off the edge.
