12 years before present, Agnes POV

I gripped my father's leg so hard I was physically shaking. I didn't want to go, and they couldn't make me. Both my parents were attempting to pry me off my father's leg. So. Not. Happening.

"Young lady, you are five years old, quit acting like a two year old!' My mother scolded me. She had flowing blonde hair like mine, but that's where our similarities ended. She had ocean blue eyes, and a seemingly permanent scowl. I had big brown eyes like my dad, and today was one of the few days you'd see me without a smile.

"Mommy, please don't make me go!" I whisper-yelled at her.

My father stomped his leg, finally throwing off my puny frame. Rude. They simply rolled their eyes at me, and shoved me through the busy doorway. They were always like that. Busy busy busy.

Looking around the room full of loud, tall people made me feel even smaller. I whipped my head around and just about flew out of my skin when a container of counting bears got knocked over. I backed away from the noise, and ended up in a corner of the room filled with books and beanbag chairs. I sighed in relief, as nobody was over here. I settled in and began to read as more parents began to leave.

Soon enough, I had assumed everyone was here. The parents had all left so the teacher pointed out our seats to us, and began to introduce herself.

"Hi everybody! My name is Ms. Leonard, and I'll be your teacher this year. I hope I can make learning easy and fun for all of you! Now as for-" She never got to finish her last sentence.

The door slammed open without warning, causing me to nearly topple off my chair. Standing in the doorway were two big men in leather vests. Standing with them were four kids. There were three boys who all looked a lot bigger than most of the kids already seated. One had reddish brown hair and hazel eyes, and another had dirty blonde hair and sky blue eyes. The last one had very dark hair, and striking green eyes. I made eye contact with him for about two seconds before deciding that if I looked much longer I'd probably fall over for real this time. Standing a bit shorter than the boys, was a girl. She had dark skin, and chocolate eyes with a mischievous glint to them. Her hair was wild and curly. I made eye contact with her too, and she smiled big at me. I returned it and hoped this meant making friends would be easier than I thought.

"G-gentlemen, how can I h-help you?" Ms. Leonard asked, visibly shaken up at the sight of these people.

I recognized from their vests that they were those bikers mom and dad talked about all the time. The two men were massive in height and muscle. One had black hair, and a beard to match, and the other had dark hair with stubble around his jaw. The one with the beard smiled at the teacher.

"We're just dropping off some of your students. I apologize for their tardiness, traffic was a bit...hectic." He said evenly.

Traffic was never bad in this town.

"Um...yes well. Who have you brought with you today?" The teacher said, going slightly pale in the face. People only get pale when they're sick. I hope she isn't sick. Maybe I'll check on her later.

The bearded man smiled. "This here is Damian," he said gesturing to the boy with reddish brown hair. Next he named the blonde boy as Leo, and the girl as Lana.

"And this," said the other man, laying his hands on the last boy's shoulders. "Is my son Killian." I looked at Killian, only to find him staring straight back at me, with an emotion I couldn't place. Huh. This dude is weird.

"Right, w-well they may take their seats. I just began teaching, so they haven't missed anything at all." Ms. Leonard said, clearly forcing a smile.
