Your POV

"(y/n), Protect Elizabeth!" He gave her to me and I nodded in agreement

"Meliodas-sama, please be careful" she said and I patted her head

"Don't worry princess, we got this" I grinned and she smiled as a response

"(y/n)-sama?!" she gasps

"Eh?..." I noticed that my eyes are tearing up

"That's weird..." I wiped them up and looked over Elizabeth again

"Maybe it was just some dust" I shrugged

~ After awhile ~

Blood...

"Melio...das?..."

Why?

"No... please"

"Don't worry... (y/n)... I'm —fine" I grabbed his hands as if its my lifeline

"Don't talk, we'll get you fixed alright?" I reassured him, more likely, myself

"Is... Elizabeth... fine?" his voice was raspy

"Yeah, she's just unconscious... I'm sorry I failed to protect her properly, it was because of my carelessness that she... and you—"

"It's not... your fault" He looked at me and smiled, I also returned the smile but slowly faded into despair as I noticed his eyes slowly closing

"Meliodas! No! Open your eyes!"I pleaded but I was only answered with nothing

"No... Please..."

"Please..."

No... It wasn't supposed to be like this!

I noticed something glinting in between his hands but I disregarded it. I closed my eyes to let the tears stream down my face and as I opened them, I noticed that Meliodas' body is no longer at my embrace.

"What?..." I muttered in surprise

I looked at the surrounding and was surprised to see that I am back at the battlefield

Again and again... I saw Meliodas die... On the same bloodied floor... Sometimes alone and sometimes with someone... I continued to fail protecting Elizabeth... And I couldn't save him, not again!

"(y/n)-sama?!" I heard Elizabeth gasped

"Eh?..." Tears streaming down my face endlessly even if I wiped them

"(y/n)-sama, are you alright?!" she asks worriedly

"Elizabeth..." she looked at me, confused

I have had enough...

What... was that?... did I just saw the future?

... T-that doesn't matter, if those are true then all I need to do now is—

I snapped out of my thoughts and realized that if I am back, then the same thing would happen

I cannot afford to repeat the same mistakes

"Sorry, Eli-chan. Some dust got into my eyes" she sighed in relief knowing that I'm fine

I stood up and readied myself

"Eli-chan, stand back" she was surprised by my sudden stance

"(y/n)! Elizabeth! Lookout!" Meliodas yelled

I gritted my teeth as I parried a flying sword out of nowhere. Then I guess he will appear anytime right now....

I hid Elizabeth in an area that is safer than our current location. If I put Eli-chan out of the battlefield then maybe something might change, right?
