Hanging on for dear life

Dear life,

Didn't know what that used to mean

Feared life.

The smokes everywhere

Dark auras choking me,

Broke but who cares?

Just a number, you see.

The wires slip my grasp

I fall and surpass,

Nothing in midair to clasp

Time's gone elapsed.

Going twenty-one stories

Down, hitting the concrete,

Broken bones, shredded glories

Sandal and blood on the streets.

Some died falling in

Some gone holding out,

But no one so keen

To point it out loud.

Burn unit patients

They bought a patent

A new defense trick

To hide all the latent.

A building caught fire and the people try to escape by holding electric wires to come down. Most fall down electrocuted. The incident ends with a few survivors.
