"How long?" I asked.

"I do not know," Hades replied. I looked at the ground and nodded before the familiar swish of air surrounded Hades and myself.

Present

I looked around and what I saw shocked me. We were in a small arena like area that had every type of weapon lining the walls from floor to ceiling. I hadn't seen anything like this since the ANBU and even then that was a bit of an abnormally. I noticed a small vile off to the side and started to walk over to it when I felt Hades' hand on my shoulder.

"Where are you going?" He asked.

"There's a vial over there," I replied, pointing to where the vial was.

"There is nothing there, child," Hades said.

"Huh?" I asked, looking from the vial to Hades and back again.

"You are certain there is something?" Hades asked.

"Yeah. A small red vial is sitting over there. Can't you see it?" I asked.

"I cannot," Hades replied, dropping his hand from my shoulder. I slowly walked over to the vial and picked it up.

"Ares..." I whispered.

"WHO DARES DISTURB TH— A child?" Ares boomed.

"H-hi?" I asked, a little unsure of how to respond.

"What is a child doing here?" He asked.

"I pissed off Hera and she made a deal the Big Man himself," I replied.

"So forthcoming," Ares growled.

"You have a problem with that?" I asked.

"Not exactly. Just fair warning, I find it cute when mortals try to stand on their own in Hel," Ares drawled.

"How pitiful," I growled.

"Just who are you calling pitiful?" He growled.

"Go look in a mirror and even you just might be able to figure it out," I replied. Ares grabbed my hair and pulled my head back.

"You want to say that again?" He asked.

"Couldn't hear me the first time, old man?" I asked. He slowly let go of my hair and reached for his sword.

"I wonder what Hera ever saw in her," Ares asked.

"Why don't you go ask her yourself?" I asked bitterly.

"You are pushing your luck, child," Hades said.

"You really think anyone in the Leaf would care if I died, Hades?" I asked.

"You are a fool if you do not believe that," he replied.

"Then I'm a fool. I'm already dead and gone to them," I growled.

"Then why is your heart still beating?" Ares asked.

"Oh, I don't know. Maybe because Kami didn't want a monster let off easy?" I snapped.

"Is that really how you see yourself?" Ares asked.

"Isn't it how everyone sees me?" I asked in return.

"You really are a fool," he remarked.

"And you aren't?" I asked.

"You are entertaining. I just might have fun with you," Ares said.
