"Can we go home now?" I asked.

"Yeah," Minato said. I genuinely smiled for the first time in a year and jumped out the window. I flew home as quickly as I could.

Present

I flew threw the window of the Hokage mansion and crashed into Lucian. He looked at me like he had seen a ghost and touched my cheek.

"Sup, Uncle," I said. He wrapped me in a bone crushing hug.

"Thank the Cauldron," he whispered.

"It's good to see you too but can you let go? I can't really breathe," I gasped.

"S-Sorry," he said and released me.

"Rule 6, Uncle," I said.

"Never say your sorry," he said, smiling softly.

"Mhm!" I hummed.

"You tell them?" Asmodeus asked.

"You talk to Kurama?" I asked.

"I have. He and I still aren't in any agreement about what to do with you. He seems happier with that woman than he ever did with me," Asmodeus replied.

"I'm guessing he wants me as his next host?" I asked.

"He will take you over that blonde fool," Asmodeus replied.

"Go figure. I haven't said a word to anyone here except for Father. I don't really want to tell the villagers a damn thing because they already think I'm dead and will probably end up hating the Third and Fourth Hokage," I said.

"Why do you care what the mundanes think?" He asked.

"I was one of them a year ago, remember?" I asked.

"You still act like one of them when you aren't one anymore," Asmodeus said. I stood up and let my eyes change before I looked at him.

"You really believe I'd turn into a monster overnight?" I asked.

"I do not though I do believe you already hate what you have become," he said and turned to shadows. I heard the door slam open. I didn't dare turn around. I couldn't face them.

"How is our youthful blossom?" Gai asked. I didn't answer.

"Rin?" Asuma asked. I didn't answer.

"You okay?" Kuranai asked. I didn't answer.

"Hungry?" Kakashi asked, setting a bag on my head. I smelled meat buns and my stomach growled. I heard Kakashi chuckle.

"Laugh again and I'm punching you," I said, grabbing the meat buns off my head.

"Oh yeah?" He asked. I hit his shoulder with one of my wings.

"Bet," I replied, biting into one of the meat buns.

"You okay?" Kakashi asked.

"Meh," I replied taking another meat bun out of the bag.

"Talk when your ready, Rin," he said and started to leave. I grabbed his wrist and stopped him.

"I missed you, Hatake," I said softly. He patted my head softly.

"I missed you too, Nohara," he said. I thought back to the last time I saw him and blushed.

"Lost your appetite?" He teased.

"Sh-shut up," I replied and crossed my arms.

"Come on, Rin. There's something I want to show you," Kakashi said. I glanced up and saw him smiling under his mask.

"O-Okay," I stuttered and let him pull me along. He took me outside the village to a quiet little lake surrounded by dense forest.

"I found it when you were gone," Kakashi said softly.

"It's beautiful," I whispered.

"Hm?" I asked and turned to look at him. I stared, gaping at him.

"You forget what I look like without the mask?" He asked.

"It's always a bit jarring," I replied and poked his cheek. He smiled at my action.

"You don't wear yours anymore," he said softly.

"Everyone already knew what I looked like. Didn't really see the point," I said.

"You think too much sometimes, Rin," he said and kissed me just as I was about to reply.
