Today is the day of the test. Am I ready? I highly doubt it.But I’ve managed to go through it repeatedly for the past few days so it shouldn’t be as bad; as I’m aware of what goes on, I’ve still not figured if that makes it easier or not.

We were all sat in a room with a large glass window that stretched across one side of the wall so we could see what was going on in the test room. We could only however just watch the reactions of the victims in the chair and couldn’t actually see what was going on inside their minds unlike the people that were inside that could: Jeanine Matthews, the Dauntless Leaders; what would be going through Eric’s head as he watches my fears unveil?

Although the walls were painted black, it seemed brighter than most of the compound. Probably due to the red light beams in every corner and the golden light strips on the ceiling that both combined with the wall, gave the effect of a campfire in a way.

Glancing around, I observed the state people were in. I couldn’t tell if there was more people nervous or more people trying to distract themselves by talking. Most mouths were moving but hardly any sound was coming out. Even Peter and his followers had piped down.

“Let’s play a game” Christina pulled me out of my thoughts so I swivelled myself round to face her. I and Will were sat on the floor, I had my legs crossed and Will was sat in those manly positions with one leg flat and his hand rested against his other upright knee. Opposite us was Tris and Christina on the benches.

“Ok, what game?” Will asked giving his eyebrows a wiggle which Christina just rolled her eyes at before replying.

“Never have I”

“I love that game!” I gasped.

“Let’s play then!” Will urged playfully punching me.

“So everyone knows the rules right?” We all nodded in agreement. “Just to make sure, if you have done the thing that person says, you put a finger down, last one with the most fingers up wins”

“Ok I’ll go first since it was my idea” She added as we all put up a hand each.

“Never have I…” Her eyes searched the room quickly while she thought, “…Fallen in love since being Dauntless”

Everyone put a finger down. Christina first, then Will, then me eventually and finally Tris. A smirk broke onto all our faces and that turned into a mixed range of laughter. I felt my cheeks boiling up as we all looked from one person to the next until the chosen person to speak first was Tris.

“That telepathy thing though” I justified.

“Who’s the lucky fella?” Will questioned leaning in close and I realised me and Christina had also leaned in closer also and we had all lowered our hands.

“That’s none of your business!” She said laughing with each word, pressing her back further into the corner that she had placed herself in.

“We should’ve played Candor or Dauntless” I moaned sliding a hand down my face.

"Will Brannon" Max called out, not even taking a second glance up from his clipboard. After we all wished Will good luck, he followed Max out who seemed awfully annoyed.

We had all gone through our fear landscapes now. During mine, I done my best to avoid Eric as he was still in my fear landscape.

Everyone was waiting in the Pit in silence for what was to come. All hushed speaking soon dissolved into a deathly silence and all that was heard was the footsteps of the Dauntless leaders approaching us. Even though they were walking closer and I could make out the creases of age on Max, they seemed so far away from me.
