Karan was sitting on his study table and checking his Instagram.
Karan: Arre dekh lo na story... Mumbai mein board thodi na lagwa sakta hoon.
He sees Preeta's story available there. He taps it and sees Preeta standing with a boy. His heart aches seeing her with another boy.
Karan then opens his chat with Preeta and starts texting her.
Karan: I don't know what i have done.... Lagta hai tumhe kisi baat ka stress hai... Internship ke khatam hote hi job placement ka shaayad.. Par
Karan then deletes it
Karan(sighs): Nahi, Lagega mein hi peeche pad gaya hoon
At Preeta's house,
She remembers how she behaved with him and starts feeling guilty. She picks up her phone and starts texting him.
Preeta: Hey, I know.. I am being really mean to you at work but mein fake nahi ho sakti yaar.. I am hurt!!
Preeta then deletes it.
Preeta(sighs): Lagega mein hi peeche pad gayi hoon.
The two lie on the bed, thinking about each other, go to sleep.
The next day,

Preeta was sitting in Vikram's cabin taking the recommendation letter. She saw Karan standing with other friends.

Karan was in his cabin seeing the photographs on his laptop. Vikram comes and pats his back.

She comes and stands beside Karan. The two look at each other.

An awkward silent prevailed between the two. Karan sat down while she remained standing pretending to check her phone.

She left from there.
In the evening,
Karan was bidding bye to his friends when he sees Preeta packing her things.

He went to his desk and took a power nap. After minutes, the sound of a cup near him woke him. Preeta had got coffees for the two of them.

Karan(in mind): Aise hi chup baithe rahenge kya?

Preeta: Aur.. Kaisa raha experience?
Karan: Accha tha.. Bas end mein thoda heavy ho gaya tha... Tumhaara?
Preeta: Yeah.. Same
Karan(in mind): Exam waali feeling aa rahi hai.. Ek dum blank.. Apne haathon se paper cancel kardoonga lekin passing marks ke liye friend zone pe settle nahi hoonga..
Rohan comes there.
Rohan: Karan chalein?
Karan signs him to go out and leave the two alone which Preeta notices. Rohan leaves while Preeta blushes.
Preeta(in mind): This is all so confusing.. Can we still be friends?
Preeta: Reunion hua tha tum logon ka.. I saw the pictures.. Kaun thi woh.. Sana.. Sara? Kaisi hai woh?
Karan(in mind): Oh toh yeh Sara le atki hui hai.. Jealous.
Karan: Sara.. Woh bilkul theek hai.. Canada waapas chali gayi apne parents ke saath..
Preeta: Oh.. College mein saath the tum log?
Karan: Yes! We are actually very good family friends..
Preeta let out a heavy sigh of relief.
Preeta(in mind): Shit! I feel so stupid now.. Riya ke saath baith ke Kundali Bhaya dekhna band karna padega.. Uski wajah se mujhe har jagah dhoka dikhne laga hai😂😂
Karan: Tumhaari bhi photo dekhi thi maine.. Friend ki birthday party pe?
Preeta: Haan...bohot maza aaya tha..
Karan: Next time.. Take him to the Japanese place.. Jo yahaan se 15 minute door hai.. Your boyfriend would like it..
Preeta: Sure.. Jab boyfriend aayega.. Tab wahaan leke jaungi..
The two smile.
Preeta: My car is here
Karan: Haan chalo.. Mein bhi nikal hi raha tha
The two pack their stuff and leave. The lift arrives and the two get inside.
Karan: Waise woh date.. I mean dinner ka offer abhi bhi available hai.. Chahiye?
Preeta (blushed): Abhi chalein?
Karan: Japanese place?
She smiled. The two left in Preeta's cab. They reached the venue. He booked a table and the two sat at a table. They were happily chit-chatting when a message beeped on Preeta's phone. She read it and got shocked.
Karan: Preeta? All right? Kya hua?
Preeta: Woh mom ne meri waapas aane ki ticket book karayi... Woh chahti hai mein wahan kaam karoon
Karan(shocked): Kya.. Can't you stay?
Preeta(crying): I am sorry Karan.
She ran from there while he crumpled the rose kept in his pocket.
