Sonny's POV

"Ryan! You're late!" I exclaimed as my favourite student and step brother walked into the classroom.

"Sorry sir. It won't happen again." He smiled.

"I know it won't. Detention with me at lunch."

He sighed, sending me a quick nod before sitting down with his friends. I took the register and handed out the worksheets, finding myself staring at Rye as I manoeuvred around the room. "Sir? Can you help me with this question?" Rye asked, holding his hand in the air.

Soon enough, the bell rang and everyone packed up to leave. As they left the room, I called out to my brother.

"Rye? Can you stay here for a moment?" I asked, knowing he didn't have a lesson next.

"Sure." He answered, hopping onto my desk, his legs dangling off the side. I made sure everyone had left before I closed the door, locking it. He had one eyebrow raised, a look of confusion on his face as I closed the blinds.
