Tali sniffed around in her wolf form, catching the scent of one certain Elf Prince.

Her paws padded on the stone floors of Rivendell as she followed his scent back to his room.

She shifted back into her human form, and knocked on his door, anxious for him to open it.

When he did, she pounced on him, practically hugging the life out of him. "Legolas!" She cried, "it's been far too long since I last saw you!"

The elf laughed, wrapping his arms tightly around the girl wrapped around him like a monkey. "I agree Tali. Much too long." he nuzzled his face into her neck, breathing in her earthy scent of pine and some flower he could not name.

Tali wrapped her fingers in his tunic, breathing in his familiar scent of leather, peppermint, and something that was purely Legolas.

He sat down on his bed, Tali still huddled in his arms, and kissed her forehead.

They lie in silence for a while, just wrapped up in each other's embraces and kisses, until Legolas said something that caused Tali's heart to very nearly beat out of her chest in pure happiness.

"I want to marry you," he whispered into her ear, brushing her black hair out of her face, and gazing lovingly into each other's eyes.

"I want to marry you, too, Legolas. But your father-"

"Forget my father! He cannot control who I do and don't fall in love with," he growled, holding her closer to his chest.

Tali rested her hand on his side, nuzzling further into his warm chest."Why would a handsome prince like yourself want to marry a lowly shifter like me?"

Legolas pulled away slightly, and cupped her cheek in his warm hand. "Because you are beautiful, amazing, strong, brave, independent, witty, insightful. Tali, I could go on for all eternity."

I could go on for all eternity.

"Legolas, I do not have all eternity," she said softly, her eyes watering.

He held her tighter. "If you die, Tali, I will not be long after. Elves fade of broken hearts, remember?"
She nodded, biting her lip. "I can't bare the thought of you dying because of me."

"It will not be because of you. It will be because I want to be with you. We will be together forever in the afterlife. We will be together forever in our first life."

She kissed him. "Together forever."

"Forever," he agreed.
