{Shelby's POV}

We slunked down into the silent, stinky, sewage system. The only sounds were are shoes slapping and splashig down in the small puddles of water beneath out feet.

"So gross.." I whispered and shone my flashlight on a rat who was snacking on some rotton fruit. I gagged.

"Sorry, but this really is the best way to get out of here." Barney grimaced.

"I can't believe you guys went down here in the first place." I said, and wiped off some water on my arm that had dripped from the ceiling. "Ew.."

"Come on," Red said and observed the map and his surroundings. "It's a left up here."

We made lefts and rights and we stayed sraight and we took more lefts. This sewer system was a bit more complictaed than Red lead on. After about an hour Red stopped.

"What is is?" I asked, worried something was wrong.

"We are almost there. Just a few more turns." he pointed to a mark on the wall telling us that the exit was near here.

"Hopefully it hasn't caved in since we have been down here." Barney muttered.

Red led us down one left then a right. After that, we could see it there. The exit to the sewer and the exit to the city. We made it.

"We did it," Barney breathed with a smile. I smiled more; I was close to getting home.

"Alright, I'll go first." I said with confidence.

"Okay, if you want." Red said and stepped out of the way.

I stepped forward and started to climb up the ladder. Once up, I tried to push the doorway off. It was way to heavy for me. I breathed softly as I rested my palm on top of it. I felt its weight throughout my body, and usinf my powers I was able to move it while making it look like I was using sheer strength.

I removed the lid and pushed it outward, "I have the door open. It is still night so keep the flashlights on." I said and climbed out. Once fully up, I shone my flashlight outward onto the road and towards the woods. Alone in these woods again.. well, not totally alone this time.

The two climbed up and Barney moved it back onto where it was supposed to be. "Goodness Shelby, how did you move that thing?" he asked and glanced at me.

I shrugged, brushing it off.

"Woah.." Red breathed out and looked around. "This is what's outside this place?"

"Acres of woods.." I said. The wind blew fiercely and it howled through the night.

Barney shuddered and adjusted his backpack strap. Red took out a water bottle. We had already been through half of one each and Red was finishing his first.

"We should start heading home." I said, eager to stay up and head out.

"Yes, the sooner we start, the sooner we shall get to this shelter Shelby is talking about." Barney said. Red wiped his mouth from water and put the empty bottle in the bag.

"Let's go. Barney, do you have your compass with you?" I asked and Red put the maps of the city away since they wouldn't really be of use to us anymore.

"Yeah," Barney said and pulled out the compass. The Latibule should be west from this point.

"We need to go west to go home," I said. We headed east but the place was in the opposite direction.

"Alright, let's get going.." I said and followed Barney and Red throught the woods. We stuck close by the wall and we weaved in and out of the trees.
