Chapter 7. Clinic visit

"Lin...Lin wake up. Wake up Lin...I said wake up!"

"Ah!" Lin yelled while gasping for air.

"Lin it's time to go to the doctor." Puro said.

"Uhhh what time is it?" Lin asked while still groggy.

Lin looked up at the clock to see it was 9: 02AM.

"Fine, let me get ready."

"Ok."

Lin got up and used the bathroom, made breakfast, and brushed his teeth.

"I wonder what they need me for." Puro said.

"Hm?"

"You know, the doctor."

"Oh, I don't know."

Just then, Lin and Puro heard singing coming from outside.

"Who is singing?" Puro asked.

"I don't know, let's go check."

Lin and Puro walked outside to see Gunner and Robert singing "Last Christmas" while drunk.

"Last Christmas, I gave you my heart! But the very next day, you gave it away. This year, to save me from tears! I'll give it to someone special."

"Are they really drunk at 9 in the morning?" Lin questioned in disbelief.

"Yes." Puro said.

"That was a rhetorical question."

"Oh."

Lin and Puro walked to the clinic to see the doctor.

"Hello. I'm Dr. Ming. Who might you be?" The doctor said.

"Puro."

"Oh! I've been expecting you. Follow me this way."

Dr. Ming took Lin and Puro to a room.

"So what did I need to get here?" Puro asked.

"For an injection." Dr. Ming said while picking up a syringe.

"A-an injection." Puro stuttered.

"Yes, that's what I said."

"But-but why?"

"To build up your immunity to ammo."

"What?"

"Our enemy uses special ammunition that hurts transfurred. Transferred can't be hurt by regular ammunition."

"O-ok."

Puro closed his eyes and took the injection.

"That didnt hurt that bad didn't it?" the doctor asked.

"No."

"Ok. Your free to go."

"That was all we needed here?"

"Yep."

"Hey doctor. Lin has been having a fever. Can you see what's wrong with him?" Puro asked

"Sure, anything you want." Dr. Ming said with a gentle smile.

She signalled Puro to leave.

"Ok, your having a fever?" Dr. Ming asked as she took out her clipboard and pen.

"No, I dont think so. Everytime he says something nice, does something and touches me...I feel wierd." Lin said as he blushed out of embarrassment.

"Go on."

"What exactly do you feel when this happens?"

"My...my face gets hot. And I guess I-I blush when I do this because he says that my face turns red and he thinks I have a fever."

"Hm...did you ever think you were in love...with him?" Dr. Ming asked.

Lins face got more red.

"Wh-what? Me in love with him?" Lin stuttered.

"It seems that you are. These are the common symptoms. Dont worry, I'll tell him something to get him off your back about the fever." Dr. Ming said with a smile.

"Y-you will?"

"Yes."

Dr. Ming walked to the door and opened it.

"Mr. Puro, you can come back inside now."

"Ok." Puro muffledly said from the hall.

Puro came inside the room.

"Ok, it seems that this 'fever' that you say he has, is just a symptom of puberty."

"Puberty!" both Lin and Puro shouted at the same time.

"Yes, that's what it seems to be."

"I guess that explains it..." Puro said as he scratched his head.

"He is not sick so there is nothing to worry about."

"Ok."

"Well that's it. You can go now."

"Ok. Thank you Dr. Ming!" Lin said.

"Your welcome. Come back anytime you don't feel well."

"I will."

Puro and Lin set off back to there house.
