Inner Demon
She could feel him close on her heels. Her breathing labored. She must escape.
"Run, run as fast as you can, my little parakeet," his taunting voice echoed.
"But there is no escaping your destiny," he hammered home.
She covered her ears and screamed earning a rude stare from a bystander, but she couldn't care. She just wanted to drown out that voice singing.
"Run, Run as fast as you can. You can't outrun me. I'm your demon."
Running into the church she thought she'd find refuge but none was found.
Not until that voice she could drown.
"Not even God can help you now."
She had to end it somehow.
In the morning, to ash, they found the cathedral burned down.
