The sun has set hours ago
As I lay here wide awake
Thinking of how her laugh sounds like wind chimes
Or my favorite song
Yet I know I'll never be the one
So I'll savor every kiss that falls from her lips divine
Every moment that is only half mine
As I hide because I don't stick to binaries
But to her
I'm a woman too
I wish I could be a man for one day
To hold her hand before an audience
Let them know I make her chuckle melodies
To post a selfie on the internet
Simple things I wish I could do as I wait for the day she'll be gone from my view
Because one day, she'll be gone too
Just like you, my love
Just like you who left my heart hollow
How nice just to hear it flutter a little on time borrowed
