TITLE IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE

DESCRIPTION:

Everyone wants to change something about themselves, whether it's something small or not. Everyone wants to have something they don't. Everyone has said, "I wish I were ... " Complete with whatever it is they wish they were. Prettier, smarter, hotter,  funnier, etc. All you have to do is finish the sentence.

For Charlie, he wishes he were straight. In rural, conservative America before gay marriage was legalized, Charlie is forced to hide who he is, forced to hate himself. It would have been possible, if he hadn't gotten a crush on his best friend, Wes. They are both well-liked, both play varsity basketball, both are always invited to parties, both always have a girl hanging off of them. And Charlie is fine with this. He is content lying low and pretending to be straight. He can't imagine coming out, not with his conservative and catholic family, not with his jock friends who all ridicule other gay people. But he's okay hiding himself from them. Until a drunken mistake forces him out of the closet. Now Charlie is left ostracized and bullied by the people he once called friends.

All Charlie wants to do is be accepted, but how can others accept him if he can't even accept himself?
