Aminah looked up dazed. It was the second time he said it. Understanding downed on Aminah as she understood the Imam was asking of her approval. She swallowed the lump in her throat and said yes. Once they got the yes from Hasan, Everyone made a dua for the new couple and then erupted in delight, hugging and congratulating each other. Aminah forced the tears away before anyone saw her.

The two families sat in the restaurant as one big family. Aminah sat awkwardly in front of her husband. Everyone was chatting and laughing, while they both sat silently. The silence made her uncomfortable, Aminah was trying to find the courage to say something, when abruptly Hasan got up and left the restaurant.

Her mother inclined her head towards him, silently telling her to follow him. Aminah sat where she was. She didn't want to make a scene. Her aunt then whispered "it looks like someone wants privacy. Go to him Aminah". She winked seeing Aminah blushing.

Aminah got up reluctantly and walked out to the patio area of the resturant. Hasan was standing near the fence, Aminah slowly walked towards him. She was just two steps away from him when he mumbled "I just needed fresh air. I want to be alone."

Ignoring his rude tone, Aminah said "I understand, I felt a bit hot too. The weather is really nice out here. We can talk if you want?"

Hasan whipped around facing her and looked straight into her eyes. His rage filled eyes were covered by beautiful wisps of brown hair. Damn he was hot! but also very angry and made Aminah feel 10 times smaller.

"No I don't want to talk. Because I'm not happy, with you or this marriage!" his voice was laced with venom.

Aminah felt hurt by his words but she remained calm and turned to leave. Suddenly his hand grabbed her arm. Aminah winced back from his sudden touch. She found herself face to face with Hasan. Anger erupted in Aminah It's not like I was dying to marry you!

Just as Hasan was about to say something, Aminah cut him off. "the feeling is mutual. By the way I couldn't care less about you. Your mom sent me here."

Hasan took a step back, looking surprised at her sudden outburst. He let go of her arm and left without saying another word.

From afar she saw him walk towards a shadow. Who could that be? Whoever it was she didn't care, she didn't want to be anywhere near Hasan. Or else she might say something else that she'll regret.

Aminah found her way to the bathroom hoping to avoid Hasan the rest of the evening. She splashed her face with cold water. It felt good. She looked up to the mirror and realized none of her makeup was waterproof. She looked like a raccoon. Aminah tried wiping it off but it just made her look worse. A girl tapped her shoulder. She turned around to find a short girl with black hair, about a year older than her. She held out a pack of makeup wipes. "That's a lesson I learnt the hard way. So now I never leave home without makeup wipes." she smiled a bright beautiful smile.

"My day is just getting worse and worse every minute. Thank you. I'm Aminah, by the way." Aminah said gratefully taking the wipes.

"No prob. I'm Sara. But let me fix you up. Besides it is your wedding day." Sara winked, taking out red lipstick.

Aminah was shocked how did she know? Seeing the confused look on her face, Sara explained her father was a friend of Hasan's father. Their plane was delayed so they missed the main wedding event.

"But how did you know-" Aminah was about to say.

"You're Hasans beautiful bride? I saw you two talking. Besides Hasan told me you had a makeup malfunction. So I came to the rescue." Sara replied, Aminah blushed how embarrassing, but I have to say Hasan's a good liar.

The rest of the evening went smoothly. Aminah was grateful Hasan had disappeared. He never came back.
