childhood hope
isn't just wild dreams
under clear skies at night

childhood hope
isn't just furious promises
in a place where nothing felt right

childhood hope
isn't just half-hearted shouts
in a world where you have lost light

childhood hope is
cycling on cracked pavements
and falling over, but never losing fight

childhood hope is
surviving in a world filled with hits and screams

yet never losing the beauty that is sight

childhood hope is
everything that you want it to be
it may be hard, but it'll be with you until you break free

because this world is nothing but a chereographed nightmare

there's no point in living if you never experience wear and tear

for this world is human, and it does not know fair
only childhood hope will get you through pain's mighty glare

personally, i find that there's something really pure about childhood hope. it's really naive, yet inspiring, how childhood hope led younger me to try out so many things despite the risk of failing. it's a shame that the mindset disappeared over the years, but despite how much of a wreck i am now, i feel like childhood hope has helped to shape me into the person i am today - and i will always be grateful for that.

of course, this poem doesn't really do it justice, but i'm going through a little poetry block right now :'( i doubt it's going to improve anytime soon, but i hope you don't mind! have a lovely day ahead and tAKE CARE :')) <3
